VA-Funded Home Care for Senior Veterans Who Qualify

Many veterans and their spouses are not aware of potential eligibility for financial assistance that can help pay for home health aide care. Let Amada Birmingham be your VA benefits resource.

Amada Senior Care is firmly committed to supporting our Birmingham veterans. Not only do we believe all seniors deserve reliable, compassionate caregivers and care services coordination expertise but those who served our country especially do. We serve veterans and their families across the Birmingham area including Hoover, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Pelham, Center Point, Irondale, and Leeds.

The owner of Amada Birmingham, Len Everts, is a veteran. In addition, our staff and caregivers are proud of their veteran family members, and we love our veteran clients! We are so committed that over 30% of our clients are veterans!

We work closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs’ excellent team of social workers and are proud to be a long-standing approved Alabama provider. We work hard to make sure eligible veterans get every care hour of service and benefit they are entitled to for their service.

The VA offers many programs to veterans and their surviving spouses so that they receive the health care services they deserve, including home care, respite care, and help around the house. Amada is proud to be a licensed provider for those who served our country. When discussing these benefits with your VA Primary Care Physician, explicitly state your preference for Amada Senior Care of Birmingham as your designated caregiving provider. Make sure to provide our NPI number, 1871251355, to facilitate this request.

Homemakers and Home Health Aides (HHA):  Home Care Assistance for Veterans

Trained professionals provide personalized care in the home to meet each veteran’s specific needs, including activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, ambulating, incontinence care, medication reminders, as well as housekeeping tasks like laundry and meal preparation. Such care provides compassion and comfort for the mental health of our veterans,  allowing loved ones to age in their own homes with grace and safety.

Respite Care: Trusted Professional Care for Your Loved One so You Can Take Care of Yourself

Amada Senior Care and the VA understand the toll that taking care of a loved one can take! In an effort to reduce family caregiver stress and burnout, and to support the health and well-being of both veterans and their caregivers, the VA offers respite care in which a professional caregiver can relieve a family member on a regular basis. During that time, the family member can take a well-deserved break or attend to other household matters, confident that the senior loved one is in the capable, trusted hands of an Amada caregiver.
