Heart in Hands: Caregiver of the Month

Each month, Amada Twin Cities proudly honors one exceptional caregiver who goes above and beyond in their service to others. Our Caregiver of the Month is chosen for their unwavering dedication to our clients and their embodiment of the comforting, competent, communicative, committed, compassionate, confidently humble values that define our caregiving community.

Amada Twin Cities Caregiver of the Month: Cathleen

With 40 years of caregiving experience, Cathleen began her journey right out of high school as a live‑in caregiver. Caregiving is not just a career for her; it is deeply personal. At the age of 16, Cathleen was involved in a car accident and experienced firsthand the impact of compassionate care when her mother became her caregiver. That experience, along with watching her grandmother serve as a registered nurse, inspired Cathleen’s lifelong commitment to caring for others.

Cathleen is known for her reliability, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to meeting her clients’ needs. Her dedication is evident not only in the quality of care she provides, but also in her willingness to step up when needed, frequently picking up additional shifts and supporting the team whenever possible.

The feedback we receive about Cathleen speaks volumes. One client shared:

“Cathleen has been so good I would like to have her as often as possible. I like my Amada care staff a lot.”

Clients consistently praise Cathleen for her professionalism, kindness, and ability to provide thoughtful, dependable care. Her positive reviews and clear communication reflect her deep understanding of client needs and her commitment to ensuring comfort, safety, and peace of mind.

Connecting Veterans to In-Home Care

We are proud to support Twin Cities Veterans by hosting resource fairs, sponsoring recognition events, and participating in local support groups. One way we serve is through our presentation, Understanding Care-Based VA Benefits: A Practical Guide for Veterans and Their Families.

This session helps Veterans and their loved ones understand key VA benefits, including home and community-based services, Aid & Attendance, and general eligibility guidelines. Designed for caregivers, family members, and anyone supporting a Veteran, the presentation offers practical guidance to navigate available programs and connect Veterans with the care they’ve earned.

If you’d like to bring this session to your organization or community group, contact us at 763-307-9138 to schedule a presentation.

Recently, our Amada Senior Care team participated in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, joining thousands across the community to raise funds for care, support, and groundbreaking research. Although the event has passed, our commitment continues year-round.

Thank you for standing with us, today and always, in the fight against Alzheimer’s
