Amada Senior Care Pittsburgh
Amada Senior Care Pittsburgh is truly a family business, operated by Joe Spehar, his wife, Amber Spehar, and his sister-in-law, Shelly Spehar. This family has had significant experiences with in-home care for their own loved ones, which is what has motivated them to provide exceptional care for their senior clients in the Pittsburgh area, including North Huntingdon, Jeannette, Irwin, Herminie, Madison, West Newton, Connellsville, Monesson, Belle Vernon, Charleroi, Washington, Canonsburg, Bethel Park, Jefferson Hills, South Park, Mt Lebanon, West Mifflin, Penn Hills, Plum, Monroeville, Oakmont, Trafford, Export, Delmont, Greensburg, Hempfield Township, Perryopolis and the greater Pittsburgh area.
Joe says, “Both of my parents died of cancer. I remember the desperation and the helplessness we felt when we were trying to find home care for them. And I remember the amount of care and love their caregivers provided for them. We simply couldn’t give these caregivers enough hugs, couldn’t give them enough ‘thank-yous.’ And I knew at that time that I wanted to have the opportunity to give back, to do something just like that. Now, that’s what we provide at Amada Greater Pittsburgh. Let our family take care of your family.”
On top of their experiences as a member of a close family coping with the illness of two parents, Shelly Spehar has also worked in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years. Shelly says, “I see what caregivers do to enrich the lives of patients and their families, day after day. At Amada, we’d like to help you find caregivers of this quality. We provide a nurturing, caring environment that allows seniors to remain independent in the comfort of their own home.”
At Amada Senior Care Pittsburgh, we provide non-medical, in-home care, assisted living placement services, advisory services to help clients cover the cost of care, and whatever else your family needs to ease your worries and ensure your loved one is safe, comfortable and thriving.
Because, as you can see, caring for families is what we do best.

I worked for Joe Armada years ago. He and his company are loving and compassionate not only to their clients but to staff as well. A true sense of family for everyone involved. Thank you Joe.
So pleased with Amada Senior Care! Joe was our first contact and he was caring and helpful in accessing our needs. We scheduled a caregiver for my mother. She was personable and provided wonderful care. We will be using Amada in our future schedules and we definitely recommend their services!
When I called Amada Senior Care, I was expecting to have the same conversation as I'd had with several other care agencies; that included what services were and were not available, long wait times, set schedules, etc.
What I got was a wonderful conversation with Joe (Spehar). His caring attitude was an exceptional experience which reassured me I was making the right choice in care for my brother.
His employees are treated with respect which also means they are giving the best care possible. Joe was able to accommodate our needs with his staff both in their personalities and within our budget.
Thanks Joe for taking the time to get to know me and my brother!
This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Pittsburgh is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.
For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.
