Non-medical caregiving for U.S. veterans includes a range of supportive services that enhance their daily lives and overall well-being. This can involve assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and companionship to combat loneliness. Caregivers can also provide emotional support, help with managing schedules, and offer respite care for family members. Additionally, they may assist with errands, mobility support, and engaging veterans in social and recreational activities to promote a sense of community and purpose. These services ensure that veterans maintain their independence while receiving the care and attention they deserve.

Excellent in every category! Caregivers are very professional. If you are looking for any caregivers I absolutely strong recommend Amada Senior Care. Desiree Pyant

×

Wildly inconsistent level of training and responsibility across different caregivers. This company does not do their part to rectify problems. Some caregivers came for an hour visit and left after 15 minutes. We have video proof and showed it to Amada. They were…less than sympathetic and less than helpful. If you have other options, explore them.

These folks were superb from the get-go. Their staff are friendly and very caring. Strong recommendation!

I had a very disappointing experience with Amada Senior Care. I scheduled an online interview and they never showed up, forcing me to reschedule. After the second attempt, they told me they would call me back, but I never heard from them again. I tried reaching out multiple times, only to have my calls ignored. After all of that effort on my part, they ended up rejecting me without any explanation. Very unprofessional and a waste of time.

×

We really enjoyed working with Amada and we’re glad we chose them. They were responsive and very helpful. They were able to send the same person each time, which was very comforting for my MIL. And Taylor, the woman that they sent, was wonderful. She was attentive, friendly, and calm whenever an issue would come up with my MIL’s equipment. I don’t think that it could have been a more positive experience.

My 91 year old Mom has been receiving services for the past 8 months. Her caregiver helps her shower and dress, grocery shops, light housekeeping, and some meal preparation. We are so happy with the care she receives!! Highly recommend.

×

We just began using Amada Senior Care’s in- home services for my mom who has dementia. Melodie, our caregiver, is wonderful! She’s great with my mom and it gives my family some peace of mind and needed respite!

×

Seemed great at the introduction. Started okay with a caregiver coming for a couple days a week. When we adjusted the hours based on changing needs, the caregiver just didn’t show up the next day. We had to call Amada. They couldn’t get someone else to come that day. So we went without a caregiver. Throughout the time with Amada the caregiver would adjust her time for her convenience, not my mom’s. For a second time the caregiver (a different one) didn’t show up and they couldn’t cover her shift. Now the replacement caregiver can’t accommodate our schedule so we need to adjust. We have decided to discontinue the service based on these issues. And even though Amada was not able to accommodate us more than once and inconvenienced us greatly, they were not willing to waive their 10 day cancellation policy.

My initial meeting with Noel and Alessandro with Amada left me genuinely excited about the prospect of signing up with their services. Their assurances of professionalism and dedication to meeting my needs seemed promising, and I looked forward to the support they promised to provide. However, my optimism quickly turned to disappointment as my experience unfolded. First and foremost, the reliability of scheduled caregivers was severely lacking. Last minute cancellations became a regular occurrence, disrupting my relatively strict teaching schedule as a a professor. Such disregard for punctuality and consistency is simply unacceptable, especially when one’s livelihood depends on it. Despite the agency’s claims of fully trained and vetted caregivers, I was sent multiple caregivers who lacked basic knowledge essential to their role. For instance, more than one caregiver was unfamiliar with a Sara Stedy — a relatively common device that I utilize for transfers. Additionally, another caregiver disclosed that she had never received any basic training or onboarding through the agency. Such inconsistencies raise concerns about the quality and consistency of caregiver training and vetting procedures. In one particularly alarming instance, a caregiver arrived intoxicated, putting both my safety and well-being at risk. Additionally, despite my specific request for female caregivers, one scheduler attempted to pressure me into accepting a male caregiver. I don’t even need to elaborate on how unacceptable this is. It’s important to note that I had only been utilizing their services for a month. Despite this relatively short timeframe, encountering multiple instances of unreliability, lack of training and unprofessionalism among their caregivers and support staff is disconcerting. As a private pay customer investing $50 per hour in their services, I expected nothing less than the highest standards of professionalism and reliability. Unfortunately, Amada failed to deliver on their promises. As a private pay customer, my experience with Amada has left me deeply concerned about the quality of care provided to those receiving services paid for by the county or state. If my experience as a paying customer was marked by broken promises and a disregard for my concerns, I shudder to think about the experiences of those who may be even more vulnerable. I cannot in good conscience recommend Amada to anyone seeking reliable and respectful care services. I’m willing to provide further details upon request.

Amada does a multitude of things within senior care very well. First and foremost they are there for the family and their loved one with compassionate caregivers and a communicative staff. They can help navigate things like homecare, VA benefits, long-term care insurance, and even help with finding a senior living community. I would highly recommend working alongside Amada if you ever need.

×

Amada’s team is very well versed in home care benefits and they’re able to help families navigate long-term care insurance. They understand the many layers of VA benefits, which has been a significant help to our community. Amada helps people keep their independence in the home, because they know how important that is.

My mother and I are so greatful to Director Noel, the scheduling and admin team and caregivers at Amada for thier dedication in ensuring my mother has professional, safe and compasionate care. We really appreciate that they go above and beyond in taking the individual needs of thier clients seriously!! ❤️ And we love our Amada caregivers!! ❤️ Noel and her staff are always accessible by PHONE in an era where many agencies don’t take the time to talk with thier clients and loved ones caring for them when needed. Noel takes her work for those in need to heart, and we appreciate her, and her team’s personal connection with us! We highly recommend Amada above all over agencies, as there are others that may be out of touch with the needs of thier clients and family members caring for them! We have dealt with agencies for 8 years and for the past 3 years the Amada team and thier caregivers thave shown what personlized, caring supportive care really means. They are not afraid to let go of caregivers or remove caregivers who are not a good fit. They take thier clients seriously at Amada!

Amada has really helped make my life much easier by providing quality, experienced care givers to help care for my wife. They have been part of our family in taking care of Becky’s most basic needs in a loving, yet professional way. I would highly recommend them to anyone who might need assistance with activities of daily living either for themselves or a loved one. They are always communicative and thorough. Hats off to them in finding quality people for this important job.

The first worker we had called in the first day we were supposed to use her. They couldn’t find anyone else. We had another meet and greet the following week with a new person. I kept my child up past his nap time and after she didn’t show up, I called and they told me she was running late. Could she come in an hour or two?!

×

Super disappointed in the lack of training when replacements are needed, no shows, theft, need I go on? Do not recommend.

×

Amada has been life changing for our family. They take amazing care of our son who has a disability. It’s very hard to trust and leave your kids with anybody but yourself, but Amada had exceeded our expectations and we wouldn’t trust anybody else. The caregivers and staff have become like family and we are so thankful they care for our son the way they do. Amada goes above and beyond working with our crazy work schedules and their communication is excellent. I know I can depend on them and that takes a lot of stress away! Thank you!

×

Multiple call-ins, when I cancelled a caregiver, they neglected to inform the caregiver who inadvertently showed up. When a caregiver called in, I received notice after the start of the shift, so I was unable to make other plans. I found them very unreliable.

×

Amada provides excellent caregiving services and works well with clients in challenging situations. They have always been available for my client’s and are always willing to work to brainstorm as a team to address any issues in a timely manner and adjust the careplan accordingly. I highly recommend their services. Peggy Treland RN, BSN, CMC Treland Care Management LLC

Our family hired a full time caregiver to help be there during the week with my grandma. She started showing up late, or not showing up at all, she also started bringing her baby, and washing her personal clothing in my grandmas washer and dryer. If you are looking after your baby, how are you looking after the person you are being paid to look after? On one occasion my dad went over to fix the TV. When he asked where the caregiver was my grandma said she was going to be late, but later reviled that she had been asked to lie to my father. The caregiver was hiding in the basement because she had brought her baby again. She also took my grandmas car and went to get her nails done, halfway through her shift. We asked that she be replaced but were told that it would take a few weeks to get a replacement. Basically we had to stick with her or get no care for my grandma. Thankfully we found a family friend who we will be paying directly. I would not recommend this company. Obviously their hiring process is not very good, and whoever the “boss” is needs to stop hiding when things go wrong. Elderly folks get poor treatment from places like this because their excuse is always “well they just don’t remember correctly”. Well we were able to prove what was happening, don’t trust your loved ones with these people.

Amada Senior Care has been a life saver to my family. I am grateful for every person scheduled to care for my mother. My mother has dementia and receives 24 hour care while my father is facing COVID in the hospital. I can’t speak highly enough about the quality care we have received. Each caregiver has gone above and beyond their duty helping my family through this crisis. Not only do I feel confident my mother is in great care, but each person has taken it upon themselves to offer a personal touch in helping my mother speak to my father daily in the hospital while trying to recover from COVID-19. I am grateful for Amada Senior Care and their incredible staff.
