Amada Senior Care Richmond
Jay Mann, owner of Amada Senior Care Richmond, knows too well the feelings of frustration families feel when they are not able to help and care for a senior loved one. Jay recalls, “Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work in pathology with cancer research and diagnostics. During that time, sadly, my best friend passed away from lung cancer, leaving behind a wife and two children. He was like a brother to me, and his passing affected me in a profound way.
This experience has motivated Jay to provide the highest quality of care for seniors and to provide compassionate support for their loved ones. “I remember so clearly how helpless I felt as I watched my friend suffer. I speak with people every day who feel about their parents the way I did about my best friend. I know that we can give them peace of mind to know that their parents are in good hands—that we’re doing right by them. I know this is the right thing to do.”
Jay and our team at Amada Senior Care Richmond have earned a reputation for providing excellent senior care in Tuckahoe, Mechanicsville, Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Bon Air, Laurel Park, and surrounding communities. We are dedicated to enriching the lives of our clients by providing personalized and compassionate care. Of course, our home-care aides take help with ADLs like cooking and light housekeeping, but we try to find ways to make each of these activities feel special. Once we form trusting relationships with our clients, we can truly understand not only their care needs, but also their preferences and desires. This not only brightens the lives of our clients, but also of their loved ones who see them thrive.

From the first Appointment until two years later my experience with Amada Care has been wonderful. Amada Care Advocate Crystal was the most gracious and kind to my mother and assisted her in many ways. She never made my mom feel inadequate even though she was being helped in many ways. Crystal made sure that everything I expected from Amada was done well and with care. I highly recommend the Company and the services they provide but I put Crystal as the reason it was done extremely well. She really cared.
The caregivers for my mother are just awesome - they treat her like she is their mother which we appreciate so much in this climate of fear of coronavirus which limits all of us. The therapy people working with my mother also have said that these are the best caregivers they have ever worked with - so caring and willing to learn.
I'm the Sales Director for an assisted living community, and have worked with Jay and Crystal since 2018. Jay runs a great business with a lot of human compassion, professionalism and common sense. Crystal is my main point of contact and has consistently shown strong, professional communication skills, a passion for helping people, and a great sense of humor that makes working together that much easier. When Crystal refers one of her families to us for assisted living she takes great care to first make sure we are the right community, and then accompanies them for any tours or meetings we have; all along the way making sure they understand everything clearly, and are making a choice for the right reasons. We appreciate the helpful, professional approach Crystal always uses, and we know the families she serves do too!
This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Richmond is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.
For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.
The team at Amada Senior Care Richmond has years of experience with senior care in Charlottesville, Montrose, East Highland Park, Tuckahoe, Dumbarton, Lakeside, Laurel Park, Midlothian, Bon Air, Wyndham, Rockville, Glen Allen, Chesterfield, Chester, Mechanicsville, Henrico, Richmond and beyond. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.
We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Richmond team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.
When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
Many of our veterans, their spouses and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Richmond, we are dedicated to helping individuals eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial support take full advantage of these resources.
