Presenting VA Resources to Vets at Freedom Village of Bellevue

Kali Schwenke, who leads the professional care team at Amada Senior Care of Omaha, spent time with senior Veterans at Freedom Village of Bellevue, NE to share information about VA benefits that help cover the cost of non-medical caregiving services and assisted living.

Freedom Village of Bellevue is a new retirement community for active adults aged 55 and older that is located within five miles of Offutt Air Force Base. Nearly 70% of residents at Freedom Village are retired Veterans.

Says Kali, “I was able to help host a BBQ and talked about VA healthcare benefits, home care, and how some Veterans are eligible to apply for VA benefits that can cover the cost of non-medical, in-home care.”

Elk Ridge Village Veterans, Surviving Spouses Learn About Their VA Benefits

Amada Senior Care of Omaha was excited to have been a special speaker at Elk Ridge Village! Kali Schwenke,
Director of Operations at Amada Omaha, spoke about VA Health Care and the Aid & Attendance pension to an audience of senior Veterans and their surviving spouses.

Kali enjoyed the opportunity to educate Elk Ridge Village residents about these complex topics, knowing that many Veterans and their surviving spouses don’t know the benefits they are entitled to. She was happy to answer questions and provide connections to resources.
 
Kali will revisit Elk Ridge Village in Elkhorn, NE soon to talk about the ins and outs of Long-Term Care insurance policies and how these benefits can help pay for in-home caregiving as well as assisted living services.
