In-Home Senior Care in Geneva

         Alie Johnson

A father-and-daughter duo and the owners of Amada Senior Care of Geneva, David Harmon and Alie Johnson, are committed to providing the highest quality level of care to senior citizens of Geneva, Saint Charles, Naperville, Wheaton, Aurora, Batavia, Glen Ellyn, and the surrounding areas.

“After my wife was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia and I had to negotiate how best to take care of her and her Dementia care. We were driven to make a significant difference in the lives of other families. She and I purchased Long-Term Care insurance several years ago and resolved to do whatever it required to remain in our own home as we became older. This, in my experience, is the goal of most senior citizens in the United States.” — David

After seeing firsthand how difficult it is to get dependable care for a loved one, their eyes were opened to the very real need for compassionate, responsible trained caregivers for senior care in the Fox Valley region.

“As my stepmother’s disability developed, it affected our entire family. We were forced to find quality care and reliable caregivers while grieving all of the changes in her personality and the erosion of her independence. We had to manage her Long-Term Care insurance benefits with a true desire to honor her wants of independent living in her own home, which added to the stress of selecting caretakers.” — Alie

Greatly Appreciate All That You Do

Before my day gets away from me, I want to make sure I thank you for this morning. I walked away feeling good. Thank you for doing so much more than what is typical. I greatly appreciate all that you do.

Home Care Service Over and Above

Alie -- This is clearly over and above service. I just want you to know that I do not take it for granted and I am humbled by your servant mindset. The world needs more people like you, and I'm honored to be among those whose life you have touched.

Families used to live together for generations, caring for one another at all stages of life. Given the increasing pressures of making a living and the hardworking families we’ve all become, that kind of approach is generally not practical in today’s atmosphere. That’s where we, as senior care experts, come in.

Entrusting a stranger with a parent’s or grandparent’s physical, mental, and emotional needs can feel like a big step. Your parent or grandparent needs to be treated with the same patience, dignity, excitement, sensitivity, and respect that you would. Our senior caregivers must pass a thorough background check and training program. They are committed to their work and take pride in what they do.

Senior Housing Care Options

It may be time to explore care options like moving to an assisted living facility when seniors or their loved ones require more medical assistance. Everyone involved is going through a difficult time. Our mission is to help families navigate the process with insight, sensitivity, and competence.

Senior Housing Guidance and Assistance
Senior Care Housing Options

Assisted living facilities typically provide non-complex medical services which may be a good fit for some seniors. Others may need a little more assistance and would be best served in a nursing home or another sort of care facility.

We have a long history of providing senior care in West Chicago. As a result, we have in-depth knowledge of all local care communities and can help our clients choose the greatest fit for their care needs, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also use our significant experience to assist our clients in taking advantage of all applicable perks, such as veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. Many families are intimidated by the price of assisted living, but we can help them make informed financial decisions. To alleviate any concerns about costs, the Amada Geneva team is happy to provide free placement services.

When senior in-home care is no longer a care option for our clients, we are thrilled to help them move forward. Our expertise is in directing seniors to the appropriate community or placement, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • Large and small communities

  • Alzheimer’s/Dementia care communities
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Board and Care homes

Veterans Assistance Programs in Geneva

Many of our veterans, their spouses, and their families may be unaware that they may be eligible for federal financial help. At Amada Senior Care Geneva, we are committed to assisting clients who are eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial assistance in maximizing their benefits.

What Factors Go Into Determining Aid and Attendance Eligibility?

1. Service in the Military

  • A minimum of 90 days of active duty is required, with at least one of those days occuring during a period of war.
  • Must not have been discharged dishonorably.

2. Personal Care Requirements

  • The applicant must currently require assistance with daily living activities such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.

3. Earnings

  • The majority of the applicant’s income must be spent on current care expenses.
  • The benefits they get will be determined by the percentage of their income now spent on personal care.

4. Resources

  • The VA will establish an acceptable asset level for applicants.
  • Financial assets will be determined based on age and financial need.

How These Benefits Can Help You

Seniors might have additional financial flexibility for their care plans and potential placements by using VA benefits. This could include things like:

  • More in-home senior care is needed.
  • They can live in any community they like.
  • Benefits are paid on a monthly basis with no obligation to repay.
  • The US Treasury pays benefits directly to claimants and they are tax-free.

"I cannot thank you enough for sending a caring, competent professional to help my father. I would highly recommend your organization!"
