In-Home Health Care Dallas, TX
Eric vanGoethem, owner of Amada Senior Care Dallas, has made it his mission to help seniors live safely and comfortably for as long as they can in the comfort of their own homes. Eric deeply empathizes with families who have experienced the vulnerability and uncertainty that comes seeing a loved one battle a disease. He watched his father quickly deteriorate from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease—a rare, degenerative, prion disease that attacks the brain and is always fatal. Says Eric, “I watched my mom become my dad’s caregiver and saw the toll that it took on her physically and emotionally while trying to still be the loving, supporting wife that she had been over nearly 40 years—it drained her for years to come. Had we known and understood the benefits of in-home caregivers at the time, I know we would have navigated that difficult time of transition more smoothly.”
Chief Operating Officer Sabrina vanGoethem’s own family experiences sparked her interest in making a difference in seniors’ lives through Amada Dallas. She is inspired by her mother, who has been working as a caregiver for years in San Antonio. Hearing her mother’s many stories of feeling fulfilled by her work and witnessing her passion for being a caregiver, Sabrina developed her own enthusiasm for providing in-home care to seniors. Says Sabrina, “I just loved hearing her stories from her clients—they have experienced so much change in their lives and it was fascinating to listen.”

Since COVID-19, Amada has been a lifesaver for my mother. She started staying in bed more because of “stay at home” requirements at her independent living community. Due to inactivity and not talking her medications properly, her health and strength suffered. Now, an Amada caregiver visits daily to check in on her and see that she is taking her medication – and also giving her a reason to get out of bed.
Her improvement has been dramatic! Our family had been putting off the oral surgery she needed because I wouldn’t be allowed to be with her in her room after the procedure. But we could put it off no longer and Amada came to the rescue again. Post-surgery, one of her trusted Amada caregivers was able to care for her while I got her prescriptions filled and the items her doctor said she needed. Julia, her caregiver, stayed with her for four hours, making sure she wasn’t going to fall and that she understood the doctor’s instructions. Our family couldn’t have gotten done this all without Amada. We feel blessed!
I have been very pleased with the care/service that my parents have received from Amada Senior Care. The caregivers have been very reliable and dependable. I have spoken to Sabrina and Stacey multiple times regarding scheduling, care plans, long term care insurance policy questions, etc., and they have been very helpful and timely with their communication.
The Amada Dallas team is so courteous, respectful and loving towards my mom. by the Amada Dallas team. Angela, her caregiver, has a work ethic that is to admired and I can't praise her enough for going above and beyond for my mom so many times. Although my mom's portable oxygen unit started malfunctioning, Angela still managed to navigate my mom to sit in the dining room so that she could have her meals -- and also play Bingo! This was not an easy task. In our book, she is such a peach as a caregiver, yet someone with the type of integrity that brings value to any company.
This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Dallas is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy, and competence.
For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.
