Please forgive that my listing says Fifty Plus Beauty. I am a YouTuber and that is my YouTube channel but I am posting this review to share my personal experience with Amada Senior Care. Recently, we started working with Asa Shuey at Amada Senior Care. We selected Amada to provide home health services for my mother who is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s. First, let me say that Amada totally lived up to their excellent reviews in terms of their caregivers. Maria was my mother’s caregiver and she is warm helpful and super attentive to my mother’s needs. The thing that really sets Amada apart from other home health agencies in Wichita is that they have extensive experience working with long-term care insurance policies. Asa Shuey, the company’s owner, is actually certified in this area and routinely files LTC claims and handles appeals if your loved one has a LTC policy. In fact, Asa had actually worked with Lincoln Benefit Life in the past and he knew exactly what was required to file claims on my mother’s behalf. Word of warning to you. Don’t just start receiving services that are required under a given LTC Policy deductible as, unless those services are properly documented and submitted, they may not qualify under the policy and they won’t help satisfy the deductible. Free of charge Asa examined my mother’s LTC policy, and then spent about an hour on the phone with us explaining all the specifics of her policy as each policy varies. Asa’s expertise alone was invaluable for us. In addition, to Amada providing excellent care and even filing the claims for us at no extra charge, Asa and Amada were able to alert us to a family member who seemed to be trying to take financial advantage of both of my aging parents. Although I won’t go into the details, Asa’s assistance in this area has been invaluable for us as he has dealt with this sort of thing in the past and this helped us recognize the abuse and stop it from happening. I can’t recommend Amada Senior Care highly enough. Not only is the care they provide excellent, if you have a long-term care insurance policy, Amada goes beyond the call in actually filing claims on your behalf to ensure the terms of the policy are followed and honored. Before selecting Amada, I did extensive research on all the home health companies in town, and I chose the very best one. I am so pleased.
Amada and their caregivers were extremely professional and provided exceptional care and companionship for my father. From preparing food and helping with household tasks, to providing help with personal hygiene care or assisting with transportation, Dad was well cared for in every way. The help we received was absolutely INVALUABLE, and Dad would not have been able to stay living at home as long as he did if he did not receive the help and care from Amada.

After my elderly uncle had a stroke, he moved in with us. For the following four years, Amada provided caregiving services for him three times a week. The caregivers were compassionate, trustworthy and kind. He looked forward to their arrival and we felt like they were part of the family.
Amada assisted us with my mother from the transition from skilled nursing to home to assisted living. Asa came to the facility to help me with the paperwork for the long term care insurance and guided me thru the process. Amy, in the office, helped organize coverage in their home, many times on short notice as my schedule changed and the needs of my parents. The home health care aids were usually very consistent which helped with the comfort factor for my parents. I felt very comfortable leaving them in their care. I was very pleased with Amada and would use them again in the future.
When my mom’s insurance policy denied coverage for her in-home care, Asa with Amada Senior Care filed an appeal on our behalf. This was a huge process and a lot of paperwork, but due to all of his efforts the denial was overturned and we now have policy coverage to pay for her care. After working with several different caregivers, we have found someone that is wonderful with my mom and takes amazing care of her. My husband was with Amada and he was one to be reconded with and the staff were all so kind and patient with him. They went above and not just beyond but beyond beyond to ensure that his last months were as good as they could be. They even loved his dogs and made sure they were ok during his time with them. My elderly father has benefitted from Amada’s services for several years. Since I live out of state, the visits my father received from Amada gave me peace of mind that someone was checking in on him regularly throughout the week. We were very pleased with the services through AMADA. They helped me take care of my father for the last 6 months of his life. We had one young man in particular who helped him shower, dress and fix some of his meals. He was also great company for my dad. I was very comfortable having him in the house.
