Amada Senior Care Cleveland

Bob Mikolich, owner of Amada Senior Care  Cleveland, understands that to provide the best quality of senior care it is necessary to support an entire family, not just a single client. He has seen firsthand the emotional and physical strain that often comes with taking care of an ill or elderly loved one and realizes that the pace many families keep while trying to care for a senior is simply not sustainable. In addition, Bob knows how important it is to address the financial aspect of in-home care. Specifically, how is this care going to be paid for?

As Bob recalls, “My mom was the primary caregiver for my dad the last few years of his life. His physical condition really deteriorated over time and it was a tremendous burden to my mom both physically and mentally. It took a toll on her health and I wish I had had the foresight to get her the help she needed sooner than later. Now, it is my mission to help aging seniors and their families so they can avoid a similar situation.”

Bob prefers to take a consultative approach with families.  As an expert in long-term care insurance claims, he assists his clients with the complexities of verifying benefits and managing claims. He also can determine what  benefits may be available through the Veterans Administration for those clients or their spouses who have served in the military during wartime. For his Private Pay clients, Bob assists in exploring life insurance exchange and home equity options that might help cover the costs of care.

If circumstances dictate that a senior housing community might be a better alternative when a senior needs more support than in-home care, the experts on the Amada Cleveland team are happy to recommend communities that they have pre-screened by way of an in-person visit.

Choosing the proper home care company for your loved one is something most people are not prepared for. Amada Senior Care Cleveland is here to show you the way.

Kevin McLaughlin, MSN, is the Operations Manager for Amada Senior Care Cleveland, where he directs all operations and the caregiver team. He also is a U.S. Navy veteran.

I wanted to write to compliment for Bob Mikolich. He is the kindest and most genuine man. He answered the many questions I had regarding my mom's long term care insurance policy. He even spent several hours helping me call the company to get my questions answered. Bob did this on his own time without any commitment from me. He is very knowledgeable and has a heart of gold. I would definitely recommend his services. he is a straight shooter and will help you solve whatever your needs are. I cannot tell you how much I truly appreciated his help!

Best,

Jill Rabne

We pride ourselves in the deep levels of expertise and empathy we provide in caring for Westlake area clients—and their families. We know families are protective of their loved ones, and the stresses and sacrifices that go along with family caregiving can make it extremely difficult in light of jobs, raising children, and other daily obligations. Our skilled, highly trained, compassionate caregivers form a meaningful partnership with both the client and his or her family, becoming an extended member of the family in executing a customized home care plan based on respect, companionship and encouragement.

Senior Housing Advising

When seniors or their loved ones begin to feel that they require more support than in-home care and assistance with basic ADLs, it may be time to consider transitioning to an assisted living community.

Senior Housing Guidance and Assistance
Senior Care Housing Options

This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Cleveland is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.

For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.

The team at Amada Senior Care Cleveland has years of experience with senior care in West Side: Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Berea, Brecksville, Brookpark, Broadview Heights, Cleveland, Columbia Station, Lakewood, North Ridgeville, Sheffield Lake, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Parma, Rocky River, Strongsville, and Westlake; and East Side: Aurora, Bainbridge, Beachwood, Bedford, Chagrin Falls, Chardon, Cleveland Heights, Euclid, Gates Mills, Hudson, Independence, Mayfield Heights, and Mentor. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Cleveland team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.

When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Large and small communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Board and care homes
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Alzheimer/dementia communities

Veterans Assistance Programs

Many of our veterans, their spouses and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Cleveland, we are dedicated to helping individuals eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial support take full advantage of these resources.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?

1. Military Service

  • A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
  • Must not have been dishonorable discharged.

2. Personal Care Needs

  • Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.

3. Income

  • Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
  • The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.

4. Assets

  • The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
  • Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.

How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You:

Through the use of VA benefits, seniors gain more financial flexibility for their care plans and potential placements. This may include:

  • More in-home care.
  • The community of their choice.
  • Benefits paid monthly with no repayment required.
  • Benefits are paid directly to claimants by the United States Treasury and are tax-free.

"Amada has been amazing throughout the process of moving my mother to independent living. Trust me, you will not be disappointed by Amada and their expertise and professionalism. Use them!"
