“Dad was 51 and Mom was 47 years old when they had me,” Mark recalls. “I was the baby of six children—a little bit of a surprise to everyone. I remember my parents being seniors and the struggles they went through when Mom developed Alzheimer’s. Our family eventually made the difficult decision to move my parents into an assisted living residence and we all went through some emotionally trying times as a result of them leaving our family’s home.

We have contracted with Amada for almost a year for in-home care for my 88 year old mother. Amada does light houskeeping and meal preparation. They also take her grocery shopping and of course, provide pleasant company. As we discontinued service with another company which we felt was less than satisfactory, we have a basis for comparison. We are very positive about Amada, its owner, staff, and services. It allows Mom to live in her own apartment.
