Meet Our Team at Amada Senior Care of Southern Utah

Ty Tippets  | President and Owner

A southern Utah native, Ty serves as the President and Owner of Amada Senior Care of Southern Utah, a top-tier in-home senior care company serving the needs of the elderly and disabled in southwestern Utah. Establishing Amada Senior Care Southern Utah in 2016, Ty strives to deliver the best in senior care by living the core values of compassion, charity, honesty, professionalism, and gratitude. Ty also serves as the Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the St. George Surgical Center.

Ty and his wife, Charise, have been married for 35 years. They have six children and six grandchildren, and are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ty enjoys many outdoor activities including boating, camping, hunting, fishing, rappelling, canyoneering, and scuba diving. He and Charise live on an acre of land in St. George with their younger children, as well as two horses, three dogs, two cats (including a “mangy orange tomcat”) and a Nigerian Dwarf goat named Buckie.

Charise Tippets | Owner and Vice President 

It was only natural for Charise to follow the call of caregiving, as she is the eldest of 10 children. After earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration, she took a break from her studies to serve as a professional nanny before resuming her education at Southern Utah University.

A life of service defines Charise’s contributions to church, family and the community. She has held a wide variety of positions in the Parent-Teacher Association, the Boy Scouts of America where she committed 15 years in the Cub Scout program and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a teacher and leader. In addition, Charise is a hands-on executive at Amada Senior Care Southern Utah, where she leads the caregiving team as a client scheduler and senior care advisor.

Tawna Spoor | COO 

Tawna has worked in Business Management and Administration for over 30 years. She founded, owned and operated over 10 successful companies. Tawna has been a leader and mentor in the service industry for most of her professional career. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her forward-thinking and innovative ways to streamline business processes and practices, to improve revenue, and for accurate and expeditious corporate acquisitions and lastly, for her professional mentorship skills and abilities.

Tawna has always enjoyed serving the senior population, which was born out of the love and compassion she had for her great-grandparents and grandparents. Tawna moved to St. George in 2021 so that she could be closer to her mother, who she looks up to as her hero. Tawna has served on several charities that focus on children, seniors and pets. She has a genuine passion for life and her love and enjoyment for travel has led her to incredible experiences worldwide. Tawna believes in continuously engaging the mind, body and spirit. She enjoys learning new and improved methods to apply in her personal and professional life. Her motto is fashioned after Maya Angelou’s quote, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.” When it’s all said and done, Tawna wants to know she has left the world as a better place for others. 

Cheyenne Nelson | RN Manager 

Cheyenne knew she wanted to be in the medical field after providing hospice care to her grandmother nearly 10 years ago. She began her career as a home health aide, and shortly thereafter became a CNA for a senior care company. She pursued her nursing degree while gaining experience in geriatrics, acute care, critical care, and surgical services. Receiving a BSN from Western Governors University in 2019, she continues to work in a hospital setting as well as expanding into IV therapy, and as part of the Amada Senior Care family.

Cheyenne anticipates obtaining a Family Nurse Practitioner degree at the end of 2022.

Rikelle Curtis | Marketing Director

In her role as Marketing Director at Amada Southern Utah, Rikelle recruits in-home caregivers, markets Amada Senior Care’s extensive client services and conducts community outreach to healthcare partners and local senior-focused organizations. Rikelle’s commitment to caregiving and ensuring others have the proper individual care sprouted in childhood while growing up with and helping care for her sister who is a quadriplegic. She was very mindful of the caregivers who came into the family home and always made sure her sister was receiving the very best care. Rikelle grew up in Southern California, but when her family moved to Las Vegas for a short period of time, she worked as a marketing coordinator for a nonprofit organization that taught life and work skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Rikelle has a passion for building community partnerships and welcomes the opportunity to be the educational resource needed for the Southern Utah senior population. She and her husband, Kade, take joy in raising their sweet daughter, Ellie.

Liz Zaccardi | Scheduler

Liz Zaccardi is Amada’s Scheduler and manages the day-to-day assignments for our clients and caregivers. She started with Amada Senior Care as a caregiver and transitioned to the office to utilize her organizational, scheduling and personal skills. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge on managing scheduling, placing the right caregivers with clients to ensure a long-term, win-win relationship.

Liz and her husband, Travis, owned and operated an automotive shop for over 10 years in Midway, Utah. They have three beautiful daughters and two fur-babies. Liz also had a passion for volleyball and coached co-ed teams for four years. She enjoys outdoors camping, hiking, fishing, power sports, and spending time with her family.

She has lived in St. George for three years and loves serving the senior community. Her compassion started at a young age when she learned to provide service and charity projects for family, community and senior facilities. Her hero is her Dad who served as a Fire Battalion Chief and Director of the Fire Academy in Utah County. She admired his willingness to put his life on the line to ensure others’ lives were saved. Her genuine love for community and service has made her a successful Scheduler and is reflected in her commitment and relationships with Amada Senior Care clients.
