Highly Recommend

Amada served me well with dependable help for over a year. Caregivers came on time, found things to do, and left my house in better shape each time they came. They notified me when a caregiver was unable to be there and found substitutes. I would have loved to continue our relationship but had to move to an assisted living.
Amada also helped me apply for my long term care insurance. Rebecca steered me through the mysteries of becoming eligible for reimbursement.

Incredible support in our time of need

I am in complete awe over the support that I received from Rich and his team of caregivers. I am on the West Coast, and when I needed immediate care for my father in Frederick County, Rich’s team was there to help. We had a long list of things that made our situation a difficult one, including a large dog in the home that was over-exuberant and difficult to control. Rich made sure to take all of this into account and find caregivers who were able to handle the situation. His team of kind and compassionate caregivers supported my dad 24 hours a day until we were able to transition to a memory care community, taking him to medical appointments, assisting with grocery shopping and meals, and packing and labeling his things for the move, even transporting my dad (and his things, including some furniture) to the community and verifying he was settled. I was absolutely blown away by the heart the caregivers showed my father, and I was floored by the level of concern Rich expressed for our family and for his team. He was there to personally assist on many occasions, including the day of the move. He was always available when I had questions and maintained coordination with the physician’s assistant and memory care facility to insure everything went as smoothly as possible. The Amada team showed the sort of care and concern people usually reserve for their dear friends. I am truly grateful to have found Rich and his team of amazing caregivers.

Bad Service

I hired Amada Senior Care in Bellenger Creek owed and operated by Rich Frizzell to help and attend to my husband who has Dementia and Parkasons. The company sent out a caregiver to live in with us that became a disaster. The company sent caregivers that sat on their phones the majority of their shifts did no care for my husband also put my husband to be with his clothes on fully dressed and did not change his depend just left him wet. Also, I had to leave my house for two days , when I returned home there was a big amount of money missing only my husband and the caregiver was there. The care giver damaged my husbands vehicle. I called the company to advise the owner of these issues at least ten times no one never returned my calls. I would not recommend this agency to my worse enemy.

Senior Housing Advising

When seniors or their loved ones begin to feel that they require more support than in-home care and assistance with basic ADLs, it may be time to consider transitioning to an assisted living community.

Senior Housing Guidance and Assistance
Senior Care Housing Options

This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Mid-Maryland is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.

For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.

The team at Amada Senior Care Mid-Maryland has years of experience with senior care in Frederick, Hagerstown, Columbia, Germantown, Ellicott City, and throughout Howard, Washington, Carroll and Montgomery Counties. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Mid-Maryland team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.

When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Large and small communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Board and care homes
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Alzheimer/dementia communities

Veterans Assistance Programs

Many of our veterans, their spouses and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Mid-Maryland, we are dedicated to helping individuals eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial support take full advantage of these resources.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?

1. Military Service

  • A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
  • Must not have been dishonorable discharged.

2. Personal Care Needs

  • Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.

3. Income

  • Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
  • The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.

4. Assets

  • The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
  • Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.

How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You:

Through the use of VA benefits, seniors gain more financial flexibility for their care plans and potential placements. This may include:

  • More in-home care.
  • The community of their choice.
  • Benefits paid monthly with no repayment required.
  • Benefits are paid directly to claimants by the United States Treasury and are tax-free.

"We could not be any more thankful or appreciative of Amada Senior Care. We were in an emergency situation and needed private care immediately. The caregiver was professional, skilled and seemed to truly care. We do not know what we would have done without them. Thank you all."
