Kris and Kim

Dear Amada Family,

We are so thrilled that you are considering or have joined our Amada Family!

Our desire to care for others began when Kris and Kim served in church ministry together. Through the years, Kris and Kim worked in various service areas enriching lives of others. When both women found themselves as single mothers, caring for kids and also working with aging grandparents and parents, it was then Kris and Kim discovered Amada Senior Care.

Kim helped her own mother navigate the care complexities of caring for her aging grandmother with caregivers in the home. Unfortunately, her family learned some valuable lessons about hiring non-agency caregivers in Arizona which included paying back taxes, unemployment because of lack of documentation, and back pay for overtime. Because of these learning lessons, Kris and Kim knew that enriching lives means caring for the family by providing quality, background-checked caregivers, ensuring each caregiver and staff is an employee and not a 1099-contractor. As a young child, Kim watched her father in the risk management department of a large insurance company navigate how to mitigate the risk of insurance companies paying claims. Thus, when Kris and Kim discovered Amada Senior Care, the value of enriching lives with quality care and the concierge service of long-term care insurance

Amada Phoenix is family-owned and locally operated by Kris Keller and Kim Akers.

Our Experience on the Senior Care Journey

Kim understands the varying dynamics of being in the sandwich generation. Kim’s husband and children live multigenerationally with her mom and her step-dad before he passed in 2019. The family worked together in conjunction with Amada Senior Caregivers to care for her step-dad, but also allow her mom have a respite so she could attend Bible study and lunch with friends a few days of the week. As her step-dad’s dementia diagnosis declined along with physical issues, the family moved her step-dad into a residential care home. So, when we say we understand the complexities, emotions and various dynamics of caring for a loved one, we have lived it personally.

As a result, Kim and her mom have started a podcast called Walks with Mom that begin both generations to start the conversation of aging issues before a crisis occurs.

The Amada Experience

Seeing the difference that excellent and compassionate in-home health care made in our family, we decided to commit our careers to bringing such care to others. Kris and Kim considered several in-home care franchise businesses and decided Amada Senior Care was exactly right for us. As franchise owners, we get to follow our passion for offering the excellent care and sincere compassion our family experienced to others. We want to help families navigate the senior care journey by offering complete home assessments, assistance in coordinating with doctors, providing trained and dedicated caregivers, and much more to enrich lives.

We also want to serve as a resource to families by providing solutions on how to cover the costs of in-home care for a loved one. We start by conducting a no-cost, expert review of policyholders’ long-term care insurance (LTCi). As long-term care insurance claims experts, we walk families through the completion of claims forms and handle all the paperwork, while making sure the benefits are being used to the greatest advantage. Rely on the Amada Phoenix and the East Valley team to serve as your personal senior care advocate by making referrals for needed care and services, providing up-to-date information and jumping into action when time is of the essence.

Following the Call to Enrich the Lives of Seniors, Families and Staff

In addition, we are dedicated to creating a rewarding and personally meaningful environment for our staff. As owners of other successful businesses with loyal, longtime employees, we know the importance of continuous training, communication and rewarding environments.
