Amada Senior Care Lexington
James Bernoski and Laural Strong, owners of Amada Senior Care Lexington, know firsthand what a difference quality in-home care and private-duty Nursing Care. Both experienced registered nurses in critical care settings, including the emergency room, James and Laural have personally witnessed many of the gaps in the senior care continuum. One of the most concerning care gaps occurs when a senior patient leaves a facility and returns home. “Family members don’t know who to contact,” says James, “Mom and dad may still need help but there aren’t many resources available to help them.”
This scenario was far too common in their nursing experience; James and Laural knew they needed to do something to help close the gap. That something turned out to be the purchase of an Amada Senior Care franchise.“Laural and I wanted to make a difference in the care gap,” says James, “At Amada Senior Care of Lexington, we are not only able to provide the highest quality of care to seniors, but we are also able to give their families the peace of mind they deserve.”
As nurses, and additionally for Laural as an Air Force veteran with 12 years of service, the franchise business partners understand the struggles faced by many modern-family caregivers, especially those referred to as the sandwich generation.“Caregiving can be stressful, time-consuming and emotionally exhausting. It can be difficult for families to juggle work, children and other obligations and still find time to properly care for an aging parent or loved one,” says Laural, “Home care provides a means for family caregivers to reduce the burden so they can focus more on being a son, daughter, or friend.”
For Amada Lexington, their home care business is more than just another home care company – it’s a chance to give back to their senior community, including military veterans and their families. “It’s important to give back to the seniors that took care of us when we were growing up,” says Laural. The Amada Lexington team is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of their clients and they are prepared to go the extra mile for them.
James ends, “At the end of the day, Amada Lexington is on a mission to provide high-quality, individualized and compassionate care to the Lexington community through respect, integrity and excellence with every client they serve.”

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you about the wonderful job Elaine is doing. We appreciate her so much. I can always tell a day when Elaine has been to the house because Mom is more engaged and cheerful when I return home. She puts in the extra effort to get Mom to talk and joke with her, which I know can be difficult with mom’s hearing impairment. Elaine checks in with me when Mom doesn’t finish lunch or if there are other things she thinks it would be helpful for me to know. I know there were a few bumps in the beginning trying to find the right fit. I feel you should know that you have an employee that really does improve my mom’s day, and that means so much to us both. The things she does around the house lightens my load so much and knowing Mom is happy too is just wonderful. I did not have an email address for Brandy or Missy if you could please forward this on to them as well.
The caregivers are hard working, empathetic, compassionate, very focused on quality care for their customers, professional, kind and flexible. I would recommend this firm for anyone needing in home care for a family member.
My mother is an important person in my life. It’s comforting to know someone really does care. Amada provides excellent service!
This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Lexington is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.
For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.
The team at Amada Senior Care Lexington has years of experience with senior care in Lexington, Georgetown, Sadieville, Stamping Ground, Nicholasville, Richmond, Winchester, Corinth, Frankfort, Grant, Versailles, Williamstown and surrounding communities. We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Lexington team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.
