Amada Lehigh Valley caregiver Gil Clarke has been honored as a recipient of the Amada Caregiver Values Award. Click here to view part of the celebration for Gil. He was one of six caregivers in the Amada Senior Care franchise system receiving the annual national award in recognition of exemplifying Amada’s “6Cs” of caregiving: Commitment, Communication, Competence, Compassion, Confidently Humble, and Congenial.
Gil was selected to receive the Compassionate Value Award, as his service during 2019 demonstrated that “Amada caregivers see providing senior care as their calling, not just a job. They show genuine kindness and concern for those we care for and are always looking for ways to fulfill their relational, emotional, and physical care needs.”
Gil is a longtime pastor who sees caregiving as a way of life. He won over an extremely difficult client who presented many challenges. He earned the client’s trust and thanks to his dedicated effort, the client became open to receiving care from other caregivers on the Lehigh Valley team. In addition, Gil provides care to a client with Parkinson’s, serving 7 days a week – four hours each morning and evening.
“The 6Cs that make up our value system are not just words,” Gil said. “It says something about all of us and the work that we do.”
Attending the Top Workplaces awards ceremony were (left to right) Ed Duborg (owner of Amada LehighValley), Barbara Ferguson (operations coordinator), Kara Klusaritz (operations manager), Rebecca Moore, RN (case manager), Susan Hunsicker (scheduling coordinator), Nicholes Gonzalez (scheduling coordinator), and Gil Clark (Caregiver of the Year).
