Brad Condon, owner of Amada Senior Care Albuquerque, understands what’s at stake for families in Greater Albuquerque seeking the highest quality home care for their senior loved ones. Brad made the commitment to provide top-notch senior care due in part to his mother, with whom he shared an extremely close relationship. She enthusiastically supported him in every pursuit, from his stretch playing professional golf, stint operating as a restauranteur, and career excelling in medical device sales.

“My mother was everything to me,” Brad says. “She was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and unfortunately passed away. We would have loved to have had in-home care for her but for various reasons it wasn’t possible in Australia where she lived. When I returned home to Albuquerque, it was with a lot of incentive and motivation to offer exceptional in-home care services based on our family’s experience.

Non-medical caregiving for U.S. veterans includes a range of supportive services that enhance their daily lives and overall well-being. This can involve assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and companionship to combat loneliness. Caregivers can also provide emotional support, help with managing schedules, and offer respite care for family members. Additionally, they may assist with errands, mobility support, and engaging veterans in social and recreational activities to promote a sense of community and purpose. These services ensure that veterans maintain their independence while receiving the care and attention they deserve.

My son, who is a quadriplegic, is receiving excellent care from Amada. The CNA is timely, efficient and always respectful and has a great rapport with my son. Administration is excellent and communicates well with us in case of changes. Would highly recommend.

We engaged Amada due to dad being a Veteran. Berta was very friendly, helpful and answered all our questions. She set up the first caregiver and after a few weeks we knew it wasn’t a good fit. She made every effort to match us with someone who she felt would be helpful for us. Despite how stubborn dad could be, our primary and support caregivers were helpful, attentive and clean. Thanks for the great service. It made dad’s last days just that much better.

We love Vanessa and we’re hoping to get more hours for David. We never have to tell her what to do, she jumps right in. She’s very good about getting David to do his exercises. .

We are pleased with the service we are getting from Amada. They matched my mom with the perfect caregiver. We definitely feel comfort knowing my mom is in great hands.

Berta is AMAZING!! Her voice even sounds like she loves you immediately!! She worked so hard, with me and my parents, to conquer insurance issues and being the ‘boots on the ground’ since I live out of state. Her feedback regarding their care is fantastic and I appreciate her attention to them and their case. Only my Dad is a client but taking care of him naturally takes care of my Mom too!! AMADA has been with us every step of the way. Nice to settle in to routine now. Ray is a great caregiver for my dad and has a good relationship with both of my folks, which gives me peace of mind!! I work in Senior Care as well and am so grateful for AMADA Albuquerque!!

I can confidently give a 5 Star Review to Amada Senior Care! We have had them visiting my brother for 3 months. Their care and support for him has been exceptional. Roberta Sanchez has kept me informed on his progress with detailed care and attention to his needs. I recommend them completely.

Professional and fantastic. Berta and her staff answered all my questions, helped me navigate different options and services for my mom, like use of LTD, and responded to my emails and calls within a day, if not hours, unlike other companies I’ve dealt with in ABQ. The home health worker was super nice and my mom liked her.

The owner of the company Brad is a very good person he is trying his very best to hire a good team I was a little upset with the management before because I explained the situation with my daughter and I was completely blown off about it. But I would definitely recommend them for care for your loved ones. Communication amongst the staff definitely needs work but I’m sure they will get there

This review is primarily about the ownership, management, and administration of this senior-care company. Following an accidental situation with my mother (the patient) I reported the incident to the supervisor, who was my point of contact, and was told to contact the owner. I did and spoke with the owner; I was told by him that he would have to check if the care worker had reported the incident and he had to get her side of the story. Before speaking with him, I spoke with the office worker and requested an incident report to document the issue. I was told that I would be emailed a report to complete within one hour. I called later that day to remind her, then verbally requesting one from the supervisor; I didn’t receive a fillable report until the next day. In a text I received from the supervisor: “Let us know if we can come out and do a family meeting to discuss how we can improve our service and if we can make things right.” During the severing phone call, the next day, with the supervisor, I was scolded for not meeting with them in person and blamed for not taking my mother’s accident with the care worker, more seriously—when we were lead to believe it was not serious by the care worker upon initial report. To add insult to injury, when I received the invoice, that included that shift, we were charged $3 more per hour for this care worker. I promptly requested an explanation and was told, and received, a corrected invoice. In a succeeding text from the supervisor, I was again scolded for not meeting with them in person; “…we wish you well and very sorry when you weren’t able to sit down and work it out…”. We never received a “request” to sit down and work it out. To reiterate: “Let us know if we can come out and do a family meeting…”. Meanwhile, my sister posted a negative review about the care and poor communication received from the company during this whole ordeal. We, as a family, are not happy.

UPDATE: July 9, 2024 Things have changed, and not for the better. First, there have been misses in communication this year, over and over again. From texts not being responded to, to aids leaving their teenage sons in the car for the whole of their 5 hour shift, to a revolving door of aids that I have to train/acclimate to my mom, to cancellations not being reported and the aid still being sent to the house. It has been frustrating in the last 4-6 months. Just this last weekend, an aid caused an injury to my Mother’s skin on her wrist. I was not texted or called about it when it happened. The aid put a bandage on it and made it sound like it was a scrape. Not like there was a flap of skin that became dislodged from her arm! I understand that my Mother is elderly and super delicate. But I should have been told ASAP and I would have had a nurse come out to assist me in care of the wound. I never got that chance. Today, her hospice nurse came and I saw the extent of the injury and we were both a bit shocked. Not ok. Then, we reported the issue to Amada and were told that they’d get back to us after they talk to the aid. Interesting. **I no longer recommend Amada. In the first part of 2023, my family tried 2 other home care companies. They were not run well and the care givers were not qualified. I had to train them on some basics of caring for an elderly person. The 3rd company we tried was Amada, and we are still using them! They do a better job of hiring experienced workers and are GOOD at communicating with me/us about changes and listen when we have concerns, etc. Brad is doing a great job running the company. Recently, one of the nurses that comes to the house asked about the home care my Mom receives. I recommended Amada.

I am very pleased with the dedication directed to me by my home aid who maintains a safe, clean and comfortable environment. Amada’s executive and management team are outstanding professionals and continue to meet my transportation needs. Highly recommend Armada Senior Care to any family or person who needs assistance in their activities of daily living.

Great place. My father loves his care assistant. Very professional place, and they make sure you are in the loop at every corner. We truly appreciate their dedication!!

Met with this company to get some help with my elderly mom. They listened to our needs and it has been extremely helpful to have Amada Senior Care working with my mom. Even through an unforseen staffing impact they were able to get coverage and not disrupt the schedule. My mom is happy with her care.

Becoming an Amada caregiver is a deeply rewarding experience, filled with moments of genuine connection and compassion. It offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life, whether by providing companionship, assisting with daily tasks, or simply offering a comforting presence. The role fosters patience, empathy, and a profound appreciation for the strength and resilience of others. Seeing the impact of your kindness and care firsthand brings a unique sense of fulfillment, turning everyday moments into meaningful acts of service and love.
