Non-medical caregiving for U.S. veterans includes a range of supportive services that enhance their daily lives and overall well-being. This can involve assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and companionship to combat loneliness. Caregivers can also provide emotional support, help with managing schedules, and offer respite care for family members. Additionally, they may assist with errands, mobility support, and engaging veterans in social and recreational activities to promote a sense of community and purpose. These services ensure that veterans maintain their independence while receiving the care and attention they deserve.

Her career has included leadership roles in hospital-wide clinical education, nursing professional development, ambulatory surgery education, critical care and PACU nurse fellowship programs, nurse residency programs, staff competency development, evidence based practice, and academic nursing instruction.

She has taught nurses at the university level, mentored emerging healthcare professionals, presented at professional conferences, published peer-reviewed work, and helped build training systems designed to improve patient care, safety, and clinical performance. In other words, Janet is not simply operating an in-home care agency. She brings the mind of an educator, the discipline of a nurse, the standards of a healthcare leader, and the heart of a daughter who understands the emotional journey families face when someone they love needs care.

That personal understanding became even deeper when Janet’s own mother was diagnosed with dementia. As her mother’s advocate, Janet experienced firsthand the uncertainty, stress, and responsibility families carry when trying to coordinate care, protect dignity, and make the right decisions from near or far. That experience transformed her professional expertise into a personal mission.

Today, through Amada Senior Care Snellville, Janet’s goal is to provide families with more than assistance. Her goal is to provide confidence, peace of mind, thoughtful guidance, and compassionate in-home support that honors both the senior and the family.

Janet believes seniors are among the great treasures of every community. They have built families, businesses, churches, neighborhoods, and communities. They deserve care that is respectful, dependable, well-coordinated, and deeply personal.

At Amada Senior Care Snellville, Janet and her team provide support with personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, companionship, and other daily needs. But their work goes beyond completing tasks.

They take time to understand each client’s preferences, routines, personality, history, and desires because excellent care is not one-size-fits-all.

It is personal.

Families in Snellville and surrounding communities can feel confident knowing that Amada Senior Care Snellville is guided by a leader whose life’s work has been centered on care, education, safety, professional excellence, and human dignity.

At first, Amada caregivers may enter a home as strangers.

But under Janet’s leadership, the goal is that they quickly become trusted helpers, steady companions, and valued members of the extended care team.

For Dr. Janet McLaren, senior care is not just a service.

 It is a calling.

 It is a responsibility.

And it is a promise to help seniors live with greater safety, comfort, dignity, and joy in the place they call home.
