When I started using Amada to take care of my 91 year old father, our experience was fabulous. Their prices were not outrageous compared to other companies (however all caregiver companies are insanely expensive), their communication was positive, they were dependable for booking, the office staff was kind, and the staff sent to serve as sitters for my father were not bad. It seemed like it was going well. We had used several companies and had good and bad experiences, but this one seemed positive. Their job was to keep my dad from falling. He had come out of a hospital and he was an incredibly high fall risk. The caregivers would sit with him, help him stand, they would keep him from falling when he walked, when he moved from location to location they would stay with him and watch him closely, always having a hand on him or near him. We were paying them a lot of money to keep him safe, money we did not have to waste, so it was a huge sacrifice. One day dad was heading to a meal and he fell. His head slammed into the wall. Blood covered the wall and ran all the way down the wall. Their caregiver, although kind and one I trusted, had a complete meltdown over the fall. She did not have good crisis skills. I can understand on some level because it must have looked terrifying and clearly she was at fault. Amada’s one job was to keep him from falling, and how was it that he was able to hit his head so hard it sliced his head and turned into what appeared to be “a crime scene” according to the facility staff, was beyond my comprehension. If the caregiver was with him, with her hand on him, ready to stop his fall how did that horrific scene occur? Dad ended up with a TBI (traumatic brain injury). Amada took no responsibility. We weren’t sure he would survive the event, but we asked if he survived the event if they would provide caregivers at discount because what would have been just a few weeks of care needed post last hospital visit, now would be months of needed care because of this incident… with the possibility of being indefinite. THEY REFUSED TO OFFER EVEN A DIME OF A DISCOUNT FOR FUTURE CAREGIVERS. They are supposedly licensed and insured and they did not file a claim, or help us out financially in any way. Kevin told his staff to tell us he would do NOTHING to assist us and he would not take an ounce of responsibility for what happened. Kevin is a slick business man. I wouldn’t trust him for a second after how he handled this incident. The office staff was apologetic and knew the fault was theirs, and you could tell they understood my frustration, but Kevin holds the reigns and he clearly wasn’t going to lift a finger to support us. I would never ever recommend this company after this incident.
I can’t express how grateful I am for the service. They made sure my mothers safety and peace of mind came first. A+ care !!!

We have been trying to get competent care for my dad for the last 6 months. Unfortunately, I had to go thru 2 different agencies before I was introduced to Amada. But now, based on my experiences, I can actually compare the quality of agencies. From the start, Amada has provided the best customer care experience. The staff is expectionally nice and efficient. They worked aggressively to put together a schedule and match a caregiver to my dad’s needs. Most importantly, the caregivers are the most competent, friendly and caring of any others we have had. They have shown up on time (usually early) dug right in and instantly worked on developing a relationship. Their caregivers seem to love what they do and don’t treat it as “just a job”. If you are looking for peace of mind and for people who will look after your loved one as if they were a family member, then hire Amada.
Asking for help in the care of my elderly father is a new concept for me but after much self-reflection and prayer, I found Amada Senior Care Services through the VA system. Elizabeth initially met with us to find out our needs which is currently Respite Care. She said we would be matched with a caregiver within 2-3weeks. Sonya arrived on my doorstep and I felt an immediate sense of relief as she greeted us. Working in healthcare myself, I have high standards for patient care, especially for my own family members. I’ve used Amada since late 2019, first for my brother who had cancer and passed away in May 2020, then for my elderly mother. The care for my brother was invaluable as he was bed-ridden for the last month or so. My mom’s caregiver comes three times a week to check on her, take her to dr. appts. and shopping, and clean and cook. My mom is not usually liking anyone in her house, but loves her caregiver now. I recommend them mostly because they genuinely care about their clients. I am always able to get them on the phone, they call me when there is an issue. The owners even rushed to my brother’s house at 4am when he had a 911 emergency and he could not reach me and called them. They are also easy to work with, work well with medical staff, and flexible regarding schedule changes. Very good people.
