Non-medical caregiving for U.S. veterans includes a range of supportive services that enhance their daily lives and overall well-being. This can involve assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and companionship to combat loneliness. Caregivers can also provide emotional support, help with managing schedules, and offer respite care for family members. Additionally, they may assist with errands, mobility support, and engaging veterans in social and recreational activities to promote a sense of community and purpose. These services ensure that veterans maintain their independence while receiving the care and attention they deserve.

I wish I had known what I was walking into. This company is extremely unprofessional and disorganized. Scheduling is a complete mess—last-minute changes with no notice, long drives (almost two hours), and when you arrive there are multiple workers standing around trying to figure out what’s going on. The worst part? They’re holding payments for no reason. I was told I’d be paid two weeks ago, and now the person on the phone doesn’t even know who handles payroll. Total chaos. If you’re a caregiver looking for stability and respect, stay far away from this place.

I can’t recommend Amada Senior Care enough. We started working with Lilla Odwyer I believe she is the owner of this branch, in early May. Amada was recommended to us by a close family friend. She used them to help take care of her husband. We were looking to do the same and have someone come to the house. Unfortunately, my parents long term insurance doesn’t cover home care. So, Lilla switched gears, and we started looking into Assisted Living Facilities. She scheduled multiple places to look at. Always followed up with us and was available when we had questions. I really appreciated everything she did for us.

I have been associated with Amada Senior Care for close to nine years, maybe even ten! Amada was my mother’s caregiving agency. My mother passed in January of this year, and had the best care I believe she could have had. We had several caregivers over the years, the last lady was with us for 6 of the 8 to 10 years we used Amada. My mother was 95 when she died. She would have been 96 this June 15th. Because I have to work, it was incredibly important to have an agency we could count on. Amada Senior Care was a blessing. I never had to worry about my mother while I was at work. I knew she was in good hands. The last several years of her life, she was bedridden, but her mind was bright. Throughout our association with Amada my Mom was comfortable and depended on Amada, and felt not only safe, but cared for. I am still grieving my loss, and in fact the loss of my brother exactly one week after she passed. It has been and remains a difficult time for me being now the only one left in my family. Having said that, I must say as I think abut my time with my mother it could not have been better because of the care Amada gave her. They made her life so blessed because she had such confidence in her caregivers while she waited for me to return from work. You see we lived together. I was her caregiver when home, and Amada when I worked. I am grieving but thankful to God for the wonderful partnership He allowed me to have with Amada Senior Care for my Mom.

Liz Crews began a pen pal program at the beginning of the Virus to keep seniors stimulated . I have gotten to meet some interesting folks: adults and teens, that keep me running to the mail box for the next letter. Thanks LIZ for a great idea.
