Amada Senior Care Austin

Patrick Murphy, owner of Amada Senior Care Austin, has had recent senior care experiences in his own family that have reaffirmed his commitment to providing the highest quality of care for his clients in our community, including Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, and beyond.

Patrick says, “Just recently in my life, we had our first bout with Mom’s dementia. She was driving in her car, and she called my sister and brother-in-law, crying. She didn’t know where she was in her hometown—an area that should have been very familiar to her. My sister and brother-in-law had to go get her.

“So, our family ‘circled the wagons.’ We figured, ‘We’ve got to do something for Mom.’ My sister, Mary Ellen, took Mom into her home, and we quickly noticed that their relationship declined from the mother/daughter relationship they had always cherished. We realized that it would probably be best for Mom if we moved her to an assisted living home, so that she and Mary Ellen could go back to that loving relationship. So, that’s what the Murphy family did.”

“This was a really big learning experience for my family, and it made me realize that there are so many other people who struggle with this and need good care. At Amada South Austin, this is what we provide.”

At Amada Senior Care Austin, our home-care aides do whatever they can to help seniors feel more comfortable and independent in their own homes. This means that in addition to helping with activities of daily living, we seek out meaningful ways to enrich clients’ lives on a daily basis.

If your family is in a similar situation to the Murphy family, and a home-care environment is no longer ideal for a senior loved one, we will help you find the best place in the Austin area to meet all of your physical, emotional and financial needs. We’ll even help you find the best way to pay for the senior care your loved one deserves, because, as Patrick says, “We treat you and your family like you are one of our own.”

Amada Is Very Reliable

I’ve been working with seniors for most of my adult life and have worked with many home health companies and I highly recommend Amada Senior Care above the rest. I am the Director for Marketing for Highland Estates in Cedar Park and they are our in house home care company for our residents.

They are a very reliable company and Patrick the owner of Amada is so professional and kind. Amada's Certified Nursing Aides are trained very well. I'm happy that when ever I call Amada they are eager and happy to help any of our new and current residents that may need help with med management, showering, bathing, companionship, and any other services.

Amada’s caregivers are so friendly and we can count on them to aid in our residents care with all of their activities of daily living. Thank you Patrick and Amada for always being so responsive, reliable, and going above and beyond for our dear residents!

We Love Amada

As a registered nurse at Hospice Compassus we refer Patrick at Amada to all of our patients who need care in their home. In the past we use to use other companies until we met Patrick at Amada Senior Care. Amada’s team provides the best overall senior care in the Greater Austin area. Tanya and the rest of their staff are very organized and very responsive.

They assist our patients with all of their activities of daily living. They help with transferring, dressing, bathing, transportation, meal prep and so much more. Their Certified Nursing Aides and Caregivers are trained very well. You will not go wrong with Amada.

Senior Housing Advising

When seniors or their loved ones begin to feel that they require more support than in-home care and assistance with basic ADLs, it may be time to consider transitioning to an assisted living community.

Senior Housing Guidance and Assistance
Senior Care Housing Options

This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Austin is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.

For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.

The team at Amada Senior Care Austin has years of experience with senior care in Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, and beyond. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Austin team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.

When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Large and small communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Board and care homes
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Alzheimer/dementia communities

Veterans Assistance Programs

Many of our veterans, their spouses and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Austin, we are dedicated to helping individuals eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial support take full advantage of these resources.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?

1. Military Service

  • A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
  • Must not have been dishonorable discharged.

2. Personal Care Needs

  • Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.

3. Income

  • Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
  • The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.

4. Assets

  • The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
  • Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.

How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You:

Through the use of VA benefits, seniors gain more financial flexibility for their care plans and potential placements. This may include:

  • More in-home care.
  • The community of their choice.
  • Benefits paid monthly with no repayment required.
  • Benefits are paid directly to claimants by the United States Treasury and are tax-free.

"Thank you Patrick and all of the wonderful ladies from Amada. You helped our mother and our family during the most difficult time of our Mother's life. The caring and concern for our mother and our entire family was felt every moment you were there."
