Amada was very responsive to what we needed. My mom had just broken her hip and I wanted to make sure Mom had extra help as she recovered. Just two weeks after we moved into our new home, my husband suffered a devastating fall which left him in need of 24-hour home care. Advice from neighbors and a bit of searching helped us find Amada. Amada sent Ariana to us, and we were amazed at her level of expertise. She is smart, and wise, as well. She extends her care to our entire family from a heart filled with compassion and love. Ariana always arrives several minutes before scheduled and often misses her “quitting time” if she is not at a proper place to leave. She does household chores (without my asking) if and when they need to be done, but the attention she gives to my husband is given with warmth and caring about his comfort and well-being. We feel that we are very blessed to have this young lady to share our concerns and aid in the resolution of the many problems we encounter almost daily. After interviewing several home care facilities to help me care for my husband who had cancer, I went with Amada Senior Care mostly due to the solid 5 star rating on Google reviews. Now, after having used them, I can certainly see why they have earned that rating. I had a few reliability issues with my initial primary caregiver and she ended up leaving the company to go back to school. But when she was here, she was here pretty awesome and even stayed 45 minutes after her shift one day to help me get everything cleaned up when my husband got sick unexpectedly. After she left the company, I can’t say enough about Oliviane, who was kind and compassionate, as well as qualified and reliable, and became like a part of our family. She could make my husband smile even on the darkest of days. The owner, Anthony, is incredibly knowledgeable about LTC policies and helped me understand what should and should not be covered, as well as helping me fight an uphill battle with the company about waiving the 3 month elimination period since my husband was already on hospice by the time I needed the care. Even after my husband passed away, Anthony continued to stay involved and fight this battle with them for 5 more months until it was resolved! I highly recommend Amada Senior Care without reservation for your home care needs. I felt they genuinely cared for me and my husband like their own family and exceeded any and all expectations.

But I want to highlight CARLA SHOWMAN, whose support of our mother was extraordinary. Carla displayed many successful traits beyond our expectations. One was Carla’s empathetic support. At times, expressions of empathy can be re-assuring yet also enhance our sorrow. However, Carla has the skill to express empathetic support in a way that actually helped us feel a little better about mom’s condition…..not an easy task! Carla’s generosity and patience were constantly on display. As mom lost interest in eating, Carla was quick to provide food and drink from her own meals if mom thought Carla’s items looked more appealing. At times, Carla called newly assigned aides to brief them on mom’s condition. Another key successful trait involves Carla’s strong initiative to take actions that comforted mom and the entire family. Just one example was, as mom’s condition worsened, Carla would not hesitate to contact us to provide details that certainly helped shape mom’s medical care. Also, once mom was unable to use her phone, Carla routinely initiated calls to keep mom connected to all mom’s family and friends. Carla’s flexible style enabled her to effectively communicate to everyone, despite the many personality types of the family, friends and medical support team. Carla knew how to effectively navigate through all of us as mom’s health declined and she passed away. Certainly, Carla’s experience and wisdom helped extend mom’s life which gave us more time to love on her. All of us felt so much more comfortable knowing Carla had her eyes on our most precious prize….our mom!

I’ve been a client of Amada for three years and have been pleased with the service I’ve received. More than once they have gone above and beyond my expectations. When I’ve needed an emergency pharmacy run and a CNA wasn’t available, someone from the office (including the CEO Anthony), made the run for me. I don’t believe you’ll find better customer service than that. Both CNAs I’ve had have felt more like family as oppose to workers on a job. I definitely recommend Amada for your care.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?
1. Military Service
- A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
- Must not have been dishonorable discharged.
2. Personal Care Needs
- Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.
3.Income
- Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
- The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.
4.Assets
- The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
- Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.
