Non-medical caregiving for U.S. veterans includes a range of supportive services that enhance their daily lives and overall well-being. This can involve assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and companionship to combat loneliness. Caregivers can also provide emotional support, help with managing schedules, and offer respite care for family members. Additionally, they may assist with errands, mobility support, and engaging veterans in social and recreational activities to promote a sense of community and purpose. These services ensure that veterans maintain their independence while receiving the care and attention they deserve.

I gave this company a great review. Worked there a few years. Took a lot of classes and enjoyed having a steady client which was a blessing in home health care. As far as my future it has been challenging work. No raises, no card at the holidays or incentives for caregivers which would be great as well getting promoted. There is very little room for advancement opportunities, benefits or steady work at any of the homecare agencies. Amada Senior Care is one of the best however, as they are very caring about the clients as well as their caregivers.

Dan and his whole team were fantastic. This was a stressful time and they made it painless. Carer Jenny was a true gem. She really cared for my parents and went the extra mile.

I am writing this review as an applicant for a care giver position Barrington. When I arrived for an interview with Sana Suren it looked like the building used to be an old hotel. The ‘office’ had two desks and two people in it and nothing else. It was creepy. During the interview I was told that I had called her (Sana) boss. I looked at her and did not respond. She said it twice. NO, I did not call your boss. I called the number at the bottom of your e-mail thinking it was the office’s phone #. At the end of the interview, there was no real direction assuming they may or may not get back to me for an offer. Soon thereafter I started getting automated text messages about taking 14 online classes. So I started taking those classes which were unpaid. I am a very detailed person and wrote a lot of detailed notes. The classes took a very long time to finish. Then I received an e-mail from Sana Suren to go for finger printing which I did and paid for myself. I was told they would reimburse me which they never did. I had sent an e-mail to Sana Suren about getting reimbursed but never received a response. My e-mail was ignored. So I want to say at this point I never received a call or e-mail regarding an offer for the care giver position yet they are sending me for finger printing and to take the online classes. Then I get a text from Marisol to call her. Still not sure what her position is. As we spoke she asked me my availability. Since I had a part time job I gave her my available days and times. I realized this position is not set hours or days. You are basically on call. So I kept my part time job. As she spoke with me she asked me if I know how to cook and laughed. Wow. Almost a month later I get a text from Marisol about working a position for two days. Because I had worked that day I texted her the next day. Ok, now it was work for one day. I said sure but did not have any information regarding the address or client. She asked if I got the app. What app? Nobody told me about the app where you see all the necessary information about the client, address and work hours. She then asked me what my date of birth is, if I took the on-line classes and how much experience I have. WHAT?! Why are you asking these questions now, especially my DATE OF BIRTH?! As I was scheduled for one day for care giver, it was no more than two minutes later that I received a call from Marisol canceling it. I was stunned. She stated the daughter of the client canceled. How was it possible to schedule me and then cancel within two minutes. The daughter just happened to call at that immediate time within the two minute window to cancel? Then two weeks later I get another text message asking if I was available to go to a job within an hour and a half notice. I did not respond. I was done with this company. This whole process from the start of the interview was handled unprofessionally, very unorganized and they have a severe communication problem. And they never re-reimbursed me for the finger printing that I paid in full myself as they said they would. So that was dishonest. At the same time I received an offer from a different company. They sent an offer through e-mail with specifics. THIS is how it’s properly done. The experience with Amada Senior Care Barrington was terrible. I did my part with the classes and finger printing which I tremendously regret. They did not do their part as true professionals should.
