A Three-Generation Family Care Team
Amada Senior Care Southern Maine is a family-run business spanning three generations of caregivers. Matriarch Marge enjoyed a long career as a trained caregiver and continues to care for her 94-year-old mother. Co-Director Peter Light leads the business with vision and heart. Jami Smith brings 20-plus years of operating room experience at Maine Medical Center. Her sister Sara worked as a CNA and is a longtime caregiver. And Amelia works part-time while preparing for college. Caregiving isn’t what they do—it’s who they are.
– Peter Light, Co-Director

Real Stories From Real Families
“We needed care for my elderly father who has dementia. Amada assigned Sheri, who has been absolutely fantastic. She keeps in constant contact, learning what he loves—what music he likes, what subjects he enjoys, what food he prefers—all to better care for him. She takes him for rides, out for coffee, out to stores. My sister and I can go to work and not worry about Dad, knowing he’s getting great care. Sheri has been a Godsend.”
“Under the leadership of Peter Light, my 100-year-old Aunt Iris was able to remain safely and comfortably at home. As a retired physician and Naval officer, I have high standards. Peter’s Amada team was scrupulous and above all caring—almost as if they were all extended family, exceeding expectations on every dimension.”
“I had Amada for my mom from beginning to end. They were here when mom passed—they shed tears with us. Now they are here for dad. Knowing your loved ones are cared for and safe makes all the difference. When you hear laughter coming from the other room because of their easy-going personalities, you know you got the right place. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
