Amada Senior Care Philadelphia West Suburbs

Wayne WrolstadWayne Wrolstad, owner of Amada Senior Care Philadelphia West Suburbs, understands the importance of quality senior care as a result of unfortunate experiences within his own family.

According to Wayne, “Eight years ago, my wife’s parents were in their seventies and we began to speak with them about their senior care options. Unfortunately, shortly after that my father-in-law passed away and my mother-in-law developed Alzheimer’s. Since she is the surviving spouse of a veteran and also had some insurance coverage, we were able to move her into a really good place that specializes in managing Alzheimer’s. Over time, though, her insurance coverage ran out and we had to come up with another alternative. We found a Medicaid facility, and we’re grateful for it—but it just doesn’t match up to the kind of quality we saw at that first place we had carefully selected. If only we had acted to prepare for this eight years ago, we may have been in a better position to move her to a place best suited for her.”

“Now,” Wayne says, “When people come to me with questions about senior care, I really empathize with them. I am grateful that I now have the knowledge I need to help them and that I can provide that kind of wise advice to people in the Philadelphia area.” While Wayne and his family did not prepare for his mother-in-law’s senior care needs as they now know they should have, Wayne is happy that he is able to prevent a similar experience for his clients at Amada Senior Care in the Philadelphia West Suburbs, including Drexel Hill, Upper Darby, Havertown, Springfield, Marple, King of Prussia, Malvern, Newton Square, Bala Cynwyd, Broomall, Radnor, Bryn Mawr, St. Davids, Strafford, Berwyn, and the surrounding areas.

Both Wayne and his wife have had extensive careers in healthcare, and their professional and personal experiences with senior care make them uniquely well-qualified to help you and your family ensure the very best care for your loved one.

At Amada Philadelphia West Suburbs, we think of our clients as an extension of our own families and take a personal interest in enriching their lives. This support also extends to our clients’ loved ones, who can often use some encouragement or wisdom as they seek to provide the care a beloved senior deserves.

Whether you or a loved one is looking for help with activities of daily living in the home, are considering the transition to assisted living, or need to find the best way to pay for care, the team at Amada Philadelphia West Suburbs will guide you through every step of your senior care experiences.

Excellence in Care

If it wasn't for Amada Senior care and all of their fabulous aids, we wouldn't have been able to honor my mother and father's wishes. During my mother's battle with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, Amada Senior care came to our rescue. Providing dignified, loving, exceptional care to not only my mother, but tending to my father's emotional needs, as well. The plan was to have Mom stay home and pass with dignity in familiar surroundings, with my father and her loved beside her until her final days. As her level of care needed increased, Amada tended to our every need. Special thanks to Lynda for always being a phone call or text away. Knowing that we have Amada in our "back pocket" for the day we may need them again, is so comforting. Thank you for everything.

Excellent service

My mother needed partial care for about 3 months and then live-in care for the next 8 months. The caregivers were there on time, cooked, did light cleaning, bathed mom, insured all the doctors orders were followed. They felt like a part of the family. Being an only child with a family and a full time job it took a lot of the stress off of me. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Amada.

Wonderful People! Wonderful Care!

As the caregiver for a senior with dementia, I could not be more grateful for Amada. Each aide has been both competent and compassionate. Management staff is especially helpful with accommodating an ever-changing schedule. The combination makes like fe so much easier for our family. Best of all, my senior is happy.

I highly recommend Amada .

Thankful for the caring assistance

My sisters and I are thankful for Amada Senior Care. They have been caring, responsible and professional in every way in helping us care for our Mom. We have grown to appreciate the dependability and heartfelt care that "Kitty" has shown through the past year. She has brought a consistency, friendship and level of care that our Mom now enjoys and allows us to care for her in the best way possible. The administrative staff is equally professional and always addresses our concerns in a timely fashion.
We highly recommend their services!

Completely satisfied

I started working with Amada last October when it was determined that my mom needed in home care and had no idea of what to expect. WAyne talked me through the entire process and put my mind at ease. Not only have the caregivers been excellent but so have the staff. I can call at anytime and get my questions answered immediately.

Geneva is great

Geneva comes in on time, does everything on her own without having people to remind or tell her. She is a very hard worker, keep up with the good work.

Living safely and comfortably are concerns all families have for their loved ones, and when it comes to seniors who can be more vulnerable, concerns are elevated. Amada Senior Care Philadelphia West takes every precaution to ensure each and every client receives the highest levels of compassion and care: mentally, emotionally, and physically. What’s more, seniors deserve to live with all the dignity, encouragement, and joy they did before they entered their golden years. That’s why our caregivers meet rigorous requirements and undergo comprehensive training before they meet the family and client. Their role is to become an extension of your family, a goal we strive to meet every time.

Senior Housing Advising

When seniors or their loved ones begin to feel that they require more support than in-home care and assistance with basic ADLs, it may be time to consider transitioning to an assisted living community.

Senior Housing Guidance and Assistance
Senior Care Housing Options

This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Philadelphia West Suburbs is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.

For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.

The team at Amada Senior Care Philadelphia West Suburbs has years of experience with senior care in Drexel Hill, Upper Darby, Havertown, Springfield, Marple, King of Prussia, Malvern, Newton Square, Bala Cynwyd, Broomall, Radnor, Bryn Mawr, St. Davids, Strafford, Berwyn, and the surrounding areas. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Philadelphia West Suburbs team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.

When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Large and small communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Board and care homes
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Alzheimer/dementia communities

Veterans Assistance Programs

Many of our veterans, their spouses and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Philadelphia West Suburbs, we are dedicated to helping individuals eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial support take full advantage of these resources.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?

1. Military Service

  • A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
  • Must not have been dishonorable discharged.

2. Personal Care Needs

  • Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.

3. Income

  • Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
  • The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.

4. Assets

  • The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
  • Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.

How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You:

Through the use of VA benefits, seniors gain more financial flexibility for their care plans and potential placements. This may include:

  • More in-home care.
  • The community of their choice.
  • Benefits paid monthly with no repayment required.
  • Benefits are paid directly to claimants by the United States Treasury and are tax-free.

"I was blown away by the service Wayne and his staff provided for my mother in her final months. THANK YOU for all you did, and for how attuned you were to her needs. We couldn't have gone through her passing in the same way without your help."
