I spoke with Dave and he was very accommodating to the needs of my mom. we were able to increase hours as needed and the caregiver they chose for my mother was so caring and loving she came in and was like an angel. I was impressed with the level of communication from the initial assessment, throughout the caregiving -from both the office and the immediate caregiver, as well as the follow-up at the conclusion of the caregiving time. I felt our caregiver was receptive to instructions and preferences that were unique to my father. But at the same time she was able to be intuitive and initiate care or respond to situations with good understanding that gave me peace of mind.

We had a good experience with the help of the caregivers that were assigned to my mom while she recovered from an ankle injury. Very kind and helpful to her and would do whatever was asked of them. Preparing meals, dishes, laundry and light cleaning of the house. We were happy with the help and service.

When my father needed in home help as his health started to fail, it was a daunting task to think about. He had long term care insurance but it was not easy to navigate. I was referred to Dave by the broker of the long term care insurance. Dave helped us through the whole process of filing a claim, the medical visits and follow up. He was great. And my father got to start receiving in home care from Amada Care right away, even before the claim was approved. Amada Care didn’t charge us at all in that waiting time, and received their payment once it was approved. He has had some really wonderful caregivers, including his current caregiver. My only complaint is that he had a lot of changes with caregivers in the beginning, which was very frustrating, especially when he really connected with one. However he has a great one now and we’re hoping she stays. Amada Care has been such a big help to me and my father.

Amada Care is worth their weight in gold. They have been helping our family since 2021. When times were tough during the pandemic, Amada Care was there for us. There caregivers are sweet and caring. They went above and beyond what was needed. They have an alert system that has been truly a life saver. Able to get an ambulance to the house within minutes of using the button. I highly recommend them for any family needs.
Amada is a very reliable company and has always provided good care to my Aunt who is disabled. Even when an originally scheduled caregiver canceled last minute Amada was able to cover the shifts with somebody else. The caregivers Have always been humble and don’t have any problems doing whatever minor housework we ask. They even take care of my aunt’s dogs as well! Overall great company to use! Highly recommended!

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?
1. Military Service
- A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
- Must not have been dishonorable discharged.
2. Personal Care Needs
- Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.
3.Income
- Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
- The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.
4.Assets
- The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
- Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.
How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You:
