Amada Senior Care Johnson County
Mike and Mell Fleming, owners of Amada Senior Care Johnson County, have both spent their lives in healthcare professions, but Mike says that it wasn’t until they required senior care for his parents that he and Mell fully appreciated what Amada can do.
Mell recalls this experience, saying, “Several years ago, before we were with Amada Senior Care, Mike and I got a phone call from his parents in our hometown. They were frantic. They were in a situation where they could not survive taking care of each other any longer. Even though Mike and I had been in healthcare all our lives, we didn’t know what to do when we got down there. It was one of those situations that was so difficult, so hard. We knew that we didn’t want anybody else to go through an experience like that.”
Mike adds, “This is not a rare scenario. Having the confidence and competence to manage these situations is extremely difficult. At Amada Johnson County, we want to take that burden off of you. We want to walk you through this whole process to help you not only understand it, but to make the best decisions as you go forward.”
Now, Mike and Mell Fleming are proud to combine their healthcare backgrounds and their personal experiences with senior care to guide families from Overland Park, Leawood, Prairie Village, Lenexa, Olathe, Shawnee, the Missouri side of Kansas City, and other communities through all aspects of senior care with knowledge and compassion.
At Amada Senior Care Johnson County, we believe that the best senior care can only be provided when we get to know our clients’ unique needs, preferences and personalities. This allows us to go beyond home-care tasks like meal preparation and light housekeeping to find ways to make every day special and more meaningful. For example, if we know that Mr. Jones was a jazz musician in his youth, we might play some of his old records while we help him get ready in the morning. Or if Mrs. Smith is no longer able to bake cookies for her grandchildren on her own, we can help her whip up a batch and maybe even invite them over.
We know that our clients seek Amada caregivers because they want to remain in their homes and do the things they love for as long as possible. If our support of these clients is limited to assistance with activities of daily living, we are not truly helping them achieve that goal.
Our purpose is not only to make sure seniors are safe, but to help them live happier, more fulfilling lives in comfort. To that end, in addition to in-home care, Amada Johnson County also provides senior living advisory services, helps clients and families understand long-term care insurance and other senior care financing options, and supports our clients and their families in every way we can.

We have been using Amada Care for almost 2 years now for the care of my parents. Mike and his staff have always gone out of their way to make sure that my parents needs are met and any concerns are addressed quickly. The Caregivers that have been with my parents are so kind, caring, and FAITHFUL (They always show up for their shift or they trade with each other so that my parents have someone they know taking care of them). The staff is very trustworthy and genuine. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is need of a caregiver!!!
I can’t express how pleased I was with my experience with Amada except to say they were wonderful and were so willing to work with me to get everything about Mom’s care just right! They’d change their schedule for me until it was perfect and sent the best caregivers that best fit our needs. Plus their rate was so reasonable compared to most others. Thank you Mike and the entire staff!
Amanda Senior Care was very helpful and professional in providing care to my spouse in a time we needed it most. Mike Fleming handled all the necessary details for us to begin utilizing the benefits of our Long Term Care policy dealing directly with the insurance provider. Knowing that you have a resource to help navigate the necessary details with our insurance provider helped us through a very challenging time.
This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Johnson County is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy, and competence.
