What the Workshop Covered

The training, titled “Universal Precautions & Work Safety for Home Care Caregivers,” was led by Omar Reyna, RN, our Clinical Workshop Director. The session focused on the practical, real-world safety skills every home care caregiver needs to protect themselves, their clients, and the families we serve.

Topics included:

Universal precautions — the safety practices that keep every client and caregiver protected

Know Your Limits — understanding what home care caregivers can and cannot do, from no injections to no wound care, and why reporting is always safer than handling

Recognizing when to escalate — knowing when something needs to be reported to a nurse, family, or supervisor

Everyday safety in the home — best practices for creating a safe environment during every visit

For our team, this wasn’t just a checkbox training. It was a chance to sharpen their skills, ask questions, and get real-time guidance from a licensed clinical professional.
