Our Personal Senior Care Story
Andrew Dees, Mark Dees and Kim Pate
Mark Dees, the owner of Amada Senior Care of Daytona Beach, understands how important it is for families to understand their options when it comes to senior care, especially when a life-changing health crisis occurs.
“My father earned a comfortable living during his life, he owned his home, he had life insurance, he was a veteran, too! But after a major stroke left him paralyzed on the left side of his body, he had to move into a skilled nursing facility to receive the care he needed,” Mark said. “Neither he nor my siblings and I, all of us with families of our own to provide for during that time, had any idea about the funding options that could have allowed my father to continue living in his own home and still be able to afford the cost of around-the-clock care.”
Instead of moving into a senior living community or other senior housing option, Amada’s in-home care community ensures that seniors can stay in their own homes for as long as possible, with personalized care and assistance from their very own caregiver. Our professionally trained caregivers provide a wide variety of personal care services, including everything from tidying up the house and cooking meals for Mom, to taking Dad out for a walk in the park on a sunny day. It’s these personal touches along with support with daily activities that make the biggest difference in the lives of the older adults that we care for.

This company proves caring for your employees makes for a pleasant environment. Never has an employer been available at anytime I needed them. They made me feel as if they cared about me and how I was doing. Thank You Mark, Kim and Andrew.
My sweet, 94 year old mother has been doing great on her own since Dad died in April of this year. However, after 72 years of marriage and taking care of Dad, prior to him going into Hospice Care, we noticed that Mom needed some extra loving care, herself. Her Dr. at Conviva Care recommended Amada Senior Care and we are so glad they did. Mom needed minimal assistance to "age in her own home" because we live close by. She confided that weekends were very long and lonely. I contacted Mark Dees, owner of Amada Senior Care, and he came right out. He patiently and calmly explained their services and the very next day, Mom's Caregiver was to start! Unfortunately, the Caregiver had an emergency in her own family, 30 minutes before arriving. So, Mark went to Mom's and took the shift, himself. The next day, he met at Mom's and introduced the substitute Caregiver to Mom. We are very pleased and so glad we went with Amada for a Caregiver. I would gladly give them MORE stars if I could!
Recently my mother was slipping more than a bit. Her desires up to this time was to remain in her home as long as possible. We needed help and called Mark Dees at Amada. He came out that very day we called; and we implemented a daily support plan with his staff. Great people in and out of the office. Good tender care from in home support including some extras such as at least one good meal set up for the 4 hours of care and when she had her feet done by an in home RN service - they painted her ton nails and made her feel like she was part of the world again. Thanks.
