Very Unprofessional Company & very unorganized I was interviewed by the company & was hired & told me they was moving forward with me & I waited for the next steps I received a email that I was clear and that I was ready for orientation which was sent to me a day before Orientation the Lady Ashley told me to give her a call and gave me the wrong number then when she emails me the correct number I call her she stated my references was clear because I have worked in Healthcare awhile now. I have only wonderful things to say about my experience with Adam and the Amada team! I have worked in the senior care industry for over twenty years and have heard a lot of stories about caregivers in the home. Some of those stories were good, but most were not so great. This made me hesitant when I needed to hire caregivers in my step-mother’s home as her Power of Attorney while living in another state. After a long hospital stay, my mom required extended overnight care. Armada Senior Care helped my husband and I through a challenging time. My husband was released from the hospital into my care after a Traumatic Brain Injury. Adam was wonderful. He met with us in the hospital to evaluate our needs and planned to have a caretaker available the day he was released. Management was involved every step of the way from scheduling to answering my many questions to adjusting the care plan as needed. Adam checked in with us personally throughout the two months we were in Chicago. The caretakers were well trained, reliable, and without fail kind. After being notified that I would need a knee replacement, I began looking for live in care. This review is long overdue, but I feel particularly compelled to finally write it. I cannot say enough good things about Amada! From my first conversation with Adam, it was clear that their agency was the right one for our needs. Adam described their agency as a large company with the feel of a family business. And he couldn’t be more right. I found Adam and the rest of the Amada team to be very understanding, compassionate, and resourceful. The decision to finally hire a caregiver to assist our family as my father was struggling with progressive dementia was a difficult one. We knew we needed a caregiver in the family home to assist him with daily tasks and for companionship as his cognitive abilities started to get worse. Given the horror stories abound when it comes to elder care, we were very nervous about taking that step, though we knew that it was necessary. We contacted several agencies before deciding to use Amada, and we are very happy and fortunate that we did. Amada and the caregivers were always good with communication and even helpful in giving us ideas on how to help my father or handle certain behaviors when they weren’t there. Adam emphasized the fact that they are matchmakers, matching the right caregiver with the right client. And that was our experience. That includes when my father’s needs changed, and to a certain extent progressed, Amada was very helpful in making sure we had a caregiver that was better able to address those needs. When the time came to make the incredibly difficult decision to move him into a more secure memory care setting, Adam was particularly helpful in guiding us through that process. Adam and his team are used to these types of transitions and our regular caregiver, Latasha (our godsend), was instrumental in the transition process for my father. And most recently, when our family was unsure about recommendations that his memory care facility was making, Adam once again came through for our family. His reassurances and recommendations (from questions to ask and steps to take) were instrumental in helping us make the right decision for our father. He is an invaluable resource and advocate. As I said, I truly cannot recommend Amada enough—this is an agency with a heart. My 95 year old father in law is in hospice care at home for heart failure. When he fell and broke his hip this May, we were recommended to contact Amada and they have been truly a god send. It’s incredible to look back and appreciate that we made it to my daughter’s college graduation, out of state, the following week, because of Amada! We didn’t think it would be possible, with no family in town, that one of us would have to stay back and miss this important milestone, but Amada came through and what a beautiful time we had. We truly thank you, Amada! You worked a miracle. My husband (cardiologist) and I (pharmacist) both work in healthcare and realize the amount of dedication it takes to run an efficient, compassionate, and reliable company like this. Adam is a pleasure to work with. He is hands on, reassuring, and accommodating. Jessica at the office is on top of her game with scheduling and communicating. Sheneika has been a fantastic helper for Sheldon, going with him to appointments mostly at Univ of Chicago and prepping his breakfast and lunch. She is bright and and can chat endlessly with Sheldon when he is not otherwise occupied. She makes the bed and cleans up in kitchen and and is often very helpful for me, S often take Sheldon outdoors in afternoon. In general ——EXCELLENT!
I reached out to Adam a few months ago and he met with us to explain his services. At that point in time, our family member was resistant. Adam was very understanding and when I contacted him recently after the situation had changed and we were in need of immediate assistance, Adam was there to help. He has guided our family through the post-hospital and recovery process, helping us to ask the right questions and arrange for appropriate services and care. Adam’s team is now providing 24/7 care and we are extremely pleased. His team is reliable, caring and doing a wonderful job. Adam and his company are wonderful. They are kind, caring, and professional. They make going through a difficult time a little easier by the way he runs the company. I used Amada for care after surgery. I found them to be professional and organized. They knew what I needed and explained their recommendations to me, but they also respected my wishes. Usually, I am a reader of reviews, not a writer of them. But this time, I believe that my story might truly help you. I found Amada Senior Care in the heart-stopping moments of the realization that I could no longer keep my husband safe. I am beyond grateful that I found them, and I recommend them unequivocally. In the middle of the night, delusional from dementia, my husband fell in our foyer trying to leave our home for someplace known only to him. I couldn’t lift him off the floor, and he was in pain from the fall. Our neighbors who came to our rescue at 3:30am, presciently warned me: “you need a nighttime caregiver.” Later that day, I met Adam Busch, the owner of Amada Senior Care in Chicago. I thought that this would be something temporary, but it has turned out to be one of the most important relationships I have. Months later, Adam is everything he seemed to be on that first day. He is kind, compassionate, attentive to every detail, with excellent communication skills –the consummate professional. I sincerely believe that there is nothing that he would not try to do for his clients. He has become my partner on this sad, and scary journey. This includes finding the best people to care for my husband, not only in Chicago but also in Florida. In addition, he has helped me navigate the shoals of insurance, has responded immediately to any request, and has understood when a caregiver was just not the right person for us. Sadly, when it became time for my husband to move from home care to a memory care facility, once again it was Adam who guided me to a knowledgeable consultant and advised me and supported me in my final choice. In addition, he sent caregivers there to ease my husband’s transition to his new home. I give you these examples of his deep concern and care because in several instances, he received no personal benefit from them. He is truly a man who goes above and beyond anything you could ever want or expect in this stressful personal situation. We had the best experience with Amada Senior Care. They were so quick to respond and at our home the next day with a care giver available to following day. They were kind and patient with my mother and so easy to work with. The Care giver was amazing! After my mom returned from the hospital, she was able to her back to walking around in 2 weeks. I highly recommend Amada. My mother was extremely resistant to having home care. The caregivers were patient with her and respectful. She eventually bonded with her regular caregivers. This agency showed every care and attention to detail that my spouse deserved during the final months of life after an exhausting period of cancer treatments. I don’t post usually, but I thought I’d make an exception to let people know what wonderful care my mother has received through Amada. The care givers are kind and friendly as well as very competent. Adam, Jessica, and others who manage Amada are extremely helpful and responsive. When small problems come along (e.g. a sick caregiver), they are super fast in trying to fix the problem, and are easy to communicate with when I have concerns or just want to pass along information.

I contacted Amada Senior Care, based on Northwestern Medical Group’s recommendation, to find care options for my brother-in-law when he entered hospice in his last stages of cancer. I left a message on Saturday and one of the owners, Adam Busch, called me back that day to schedule an on-site intake for Monday. With his help and expertise in the area of in-home hospice care, we were able to find care for my brother-in-law for the next day. Adam was responsive to our needs and feedback of caregivers, understanding and flexible to scheduling changes due to the ever-changing nature of the disease’s progression, and very easy to work with. We feel very fortunate to have had Amada provide their invaluable hospice care for my sister’s family. With less than a week to prepare ( I was fortunate enough to snag a cancelled appointment with my wonderful Orthopod) I was in a quandary as to care services. I live alone. It was the holiday season with surgery scheduled December 14. I was stressed. My Orthopod’s social worker provided me with several home care agencies to contact. When I met with Adam Busch I immediately relaxed. He understood my needs and Amada had met those same needs with other clients. THEN. I found out he would handle my long term care claims! I knew my concerns were being more than met. My experience with Amada’s care givers the past 4 months has been very positive.
My husband had a brain tumor removed and, due to additional treatments, now needs 24-care. This put a huge strain on my life since I have to work full time. Amanda has been incredibly helpful in reducing my stress. They have provided excellent home health care workers so that I don’t have to worry about my husband while I work. Also, they fill out all the paperwork required by our insurance company so that I can spend more time with my husband. I’m so happy that I chose Amanda – they’ve been super helpful to me while I navigate through these difficult times.

My 82 year old mom recently had hip replacement surgery. The drs. said she would be fine and didn’t need any help. I know my mom and how difficult it is to take care of an elderly person let along with one who has had a hip replacement and can barely walk. When we were at the hospital I asked the social worker if she knew of any home care nurses that could come to the house during the night to help her get to the bathroom, bath, etc. So me and my 85-year-old dad could get a nights rest and not have to get up every 2 hours for her to go to the bathroom. The social worker gave us the name Amada Senior Care. We called immediately. Adam (one of the owners) came out to the apt. the next day to do an assessment and discuss with us the needs of my mom. He was super polite, professional, communicative, and empathetic. He immediately got us the help we needed and we ended up getting even more nights from Amada. Every caregiver was amazing with my mom. We had a total of three caregivers due to the last minute notice and the third one Shavonia was a blessing. Don’t get me wrong they were all AWESOME but Shavoina was so good with my mom. She talked with her, listened, assisted with bathing, and kept her moving. All and all I can’t say enough about the care my mom and my dad received. Having elderly parents is difficult, scary and you want to keep them safe. Amada did that and more! I slept easy knowing my mom was been taken care of by well-trained professionals.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?
1. Military Service
- A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
- Must not have been dishonorable discharged.
2. Personal Care Needs
- Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.
3.Income
- Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
- The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.
4.Assets
- The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
- Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.
