They may not recognize their own memory changes\u2014a condition called <em>anosognosia<\/em>\u2014making the helper feel unnecessary or insulting.<\/p>   <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rebranding the Role<\/h2>   <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">  <li><strong>Change the title:<\/strong> Introduce the caregiver using a functional, professional title instead of &#8220;aide&#8221; or &#8220;helper&#8221;. Call them a &#8220;personal assistant,&#8221; &#8220;home manager,&#8221; &#8220;cook,&#8221; or &#8220;house coordinator.&#8221;<\/li>  <li><strong>Shift the purpose:<\/strong> Say the person is there to help <em>you<\/em> (the family or the household) with chores, cooking, or driving, rather than to watch over them. For example: <em>&#8220;Sarah is coming over to help me get the grocery list done and prep dinner.&#8221;<\/em><\/li>  <li><strong>Focus on a specific task:<\/strong> Frame the visit around a concrete skill.
